cops on the prowl for easy tickets and picking on modded cars is nothing new...however, it seems like they've been really desperate to do what they have to, to generate some cash flow for the city/state. it really takes some nerve to sport the badge and do dirt all day every day. they might as well just assist with the smuggling of drugs and narcotics. haha...they really have nothing better to do.

That's fine Teddy, all i said was if you want to be a dick to me and have something to say to me, SAY IT TO MY FACE in person, don't be a dick on the forum and belittle me in front of everyone. That's all. And yes life will go on even if you don't like me, because you don't affect my life in any way, shape or form.....

it sucks but its nothing terribly new. gay and gayest (aka fast and furious) came out and the city of chula vista decided to take a few million dollar grant from the fed to crack down on street racing and modified cars. we learned many years ago that doesnt work but hey w/e i guess the fed wanted to waste more money right?

as for more tickets yeah they have been a lot more **** lately but if your buddy was driving around after he got reff'd and hadnt taken care of it then i mean geez.

you can pay off ref tickets fyi. its not cheap but then you dont have to return the car to stock,

Why do people bitch and moan about getting tickets for breaking the law? I don't care if it was only 4mph over, it was still over. Yeah it sucks but i don't remember anything on the driving test about there being leeway on the vehicle code because being strict is "lame." Sack up and take your nut-check if you are stupid enough to get caught breaking the law.

funny thing about this is, i got pulled over few days ago.

i was at a 4 way stop sign, waiting for my turn and was making a left turn. so my turn came up, apparently i made a fast turn and boosted all the way! then i see my rear view mirror and there he was
pull me over and said " you know why i pulled you over?" im like "No" lol then he's like "ok, i was going to let you go, but you lied to me i am going to have to give you a citation!" at this point i was like ****! he ask for my driver license, double trouble it reads expire! it not really expire i renew back in may through online and stupid dmv never sent the new one. i was like omg getting 2 tickets for sure here lol.

i was waiting for a good 10-15 mins. seeing him in my rear view mirror with some paperwork i assume, then he comes out empty handed, hand me my driver license and said " drive slow dude, kids are there" let me go.

ROFL!!!!!

My friend, the world is not that black and white. If you ask FU, he'll tell you that GOOD traffic enforcement is more about making meaningful judgement calls in the shades of grey.

The world may not be black and white, but I fail to see how vehicle code laws are not. I'm not saying it's right, and I'm not saying it's great judgement, but if there's a number posted, I fail to see how that is not "black and white."

You know, we could have speed cameras, and with those you don't even get 1 MPH.

I've been getting ticket's too...window tint, exhaust, no front license plate...tags..it's crazy. They're tryin to shut me and my Rx7 goals down. Im just gonna stop driving the car on the streets and use it on the track...seems more fun that way. I'll save money and no more tickets for me.

Vehicle Codes are indeed black and white. But good law enforcement is pointing at those codes when there is a MEANINGFUL need. Not at every opportunity as one might think you are indicating. Said differently, anyone that is driven to enforce EVERY rule EVERY time should make accounting their profession. NOT law enforcement.

The problem with camera enforcement is that the contractor that installs and manages the camera system gets paid by getting a piece of every ticket. Thus every ticket is financially meaningful and thus takes the common sense perspective out of the equation. So don't even get me started on camera speed enforcement which thank goodness has been a fail every time it has been introduced so far.

Ever seen how thick the Vehicle Code book is? The average driver probably breaks 15 vehicle laws on a one way commute to work. For instance, did you know that it's against the law to take your car out of gear (read push in your clutch) and coast? I kid you not. So don't pause too long between gear shifts.

You have to remember, there are positions within a law enforcement department that are strictly to enforce vehicle codes.

Also, studies have been done about the relation of writing mechanical violation citations and the crime rate. If a dirtbag knows a local police agency is really chicken-**** when it comes to the vehicle code, they will often times avoid that city all together in hopes they will not be caught while commiting a penal code violation.

You have no idea how many crimes are prevented or solved just because an officer/deputy made a traffic stop for something like a license plate light not operational.

bs cops are useless, i got a loud exhaust ticket the other day (had the car like that for 2 years and I get pulled over by a rookie chp) also cited me for an ILLEGAL air filter...now I gotta ref my car (not really worried about it though)

Rookie traffic cops are the worst. Too many feel the immediate need to validate their being a cop by agressively writing almost anything (including what I'll call imaginary violations) at every opportunity that an experienced cop would view as not really serving a meaningful purpose. Unfortunately, the way the system works, unless you have a arms length witness to the contrary, the cop can make the imaginaries stick just about every time. For instance, one time I got an excessive noise ticket for my 100% STOCK exhaust that was functioning perfectly. Obviously the ref signed it off, but I lost work time and still payed a dismissal fee for that bs.

The good news is that after a while those rookies find balance. But before they do, their practice subjects get to suffer.
