it'll probably take all day to get right, then i dunno how long it'll take the shop to do.

if you could, just lemme have the manifold for a few days and i'll bolt an fc manifold onto some housings for a mockup. then i'll drop it at the shop and we should be good to go a few days later.

that be the one.

and if you wanna get really into it, we can drop it off at the other shop and have him deck the flanges so they're perfectly flat.

so, what do you think...around $60-100 to have it re-welded and machined?

damn...thats clean!!!! whos is it????

speaking of cosmos...... jose videl (hes who i got my microtech from) has a 13b-re sitting in his garage (full motor) he said he'd sell it to me for $1200....do you think this would be a better way to go, or just stay w/ my 13b-t?? (unfortunatly, i already bought the full t2 gasket kit, alt relocator, oil filler neck, t-stat housing..blah blah) and none of those will fit on the re motor...... but im willing to start over if its for my benefit.....id still want you to rebuild it and either halfie bridge it or street port it though... what do you think?

he sold the rx3 like 6 months ago (rolling chassis)..... he has a protege 5 in his garage right now that hes working on..... full tube chassis (done by the same guy who did abel ibarras chassis).... hes gonna be running a 13b-re at first, but made the chassis where he can swap a 20b w/out changing anything...... the 20b is sitting right next to the car......... the car is friggin awesome! its rear wheel drive... no nitrous.....he is shooting for mid-7's

also, he is moving to texas in about 6 months, right around the time the drag car will be done

jose got shutdown a while back for fraudulent activity. apparantly, what people paid for and what he gave them were 2 different things. he built a friend's motor before i knew him and gave it about the worst port job ever! not to mention he used gsl-se rotors with s5 counterweights... of course the irons cracked. THEN, he wouldn't even warranty anything--full price for the rebuild he said. if he's still operating, i'm sure the BBB of socal would love to hear about it.

don't ask me how someone could get away with a port job like this...
brace yourself, it's painful.

you can see how he scribed the line on that intake port, but didn't bother to match it.. the wost part of those ports are the areas you can't see from the thop, though. just about the worst "professional" work i've ever seen.

cosmos are cool, but i wouldn't buy anything from jv. and if anybody had anything bad to say about my work, they would have said so by now. 100% positive feedback is REALLY REALLY improtant for me. that's why like 80-85% of the jobs i get are from refferals.

if you get a cosmo, you can use the ssautochrome fd manifold without modifying it. that's a bonus, i guess. fo the 400-450 hp range, a cosmo probably isn't gonna do anything a ported fc motor won't...maybe a bit more low end, but not night/day difference. and if you more power than that, any motor you use should probably be pinned.

ok...thats what i wanted to hear... ill just stick w/ the fc motor then....... still have a few things to buy for the motor, then ill give it to you to rebuild

-rx8 stationary gears (or fd gears)
-oem apex seal springs
-oil control rings

unless you have those lying around your house, then ill just pay extra and give you the motor sooner

i haven't used the reni stationaries with an older e-shaft yet. iirc, there's some kind of issue with the oil passage not lining up properly. lemme do some homework on it to see what has to be done to make sure they'll work reliably.

*For "performance" 13b applications we now recommend the RX8 gears.
* If using the RX8 rear gear in an earlier 13b engine, you must add sealant where the rear gear o-ring WOULD be. There is no groove to hold the o-ring because the Renesis engine mounts the o-ring in the side housing rather than on the gear. We recommend using Hylomar, but a THIN layer of silicone sealant will also suffice.
