Renton, I know your getting discouraged, but "be warned" It's not just the RX-7 that is the pain. ALL cars aer a pain. some more then others yes, but if your planning on buying older cars and trying to make it fast/cool, then you have to count on some bugs. I cant tell you how many times Jesse and I have "been there"
You have to remember your car is almost 20 years old. your at least lucky, when JEsse and I first started in this rotary game, there were VERY FEW parts out there for the secind gen. many of my "fun parts" were either crappy pep boys universal parts, or they were custom made.
Ever since the Fast and the Furious (since import street racing became popular) many more companies are now making cool parts for the FC. Back when I was into the FC, if you wanted SS brake lines, you had to make them. this means going down to the hose man, or hose mart, and ordering up custom sized SS lines with the correct ends on them. now you simply order them from one of many companies.
if you wanted a body kit, you ordered the Eurobuni ugly kit and paid a fortune. now you actualy have a pick.
anyways, point of the story, I know your frustrated, but keep in mind ALL cars are a pain in the ***. at least you have a car that is a lot more rare then a honda. it's rear real drive, looks a whole lot better, and handles awsome.
Just keep on keepin on, you are still new and have a lot to learn. there will come a time when you will be teaching everyone else "how it is done"

yeah, in all honesty i dont think i could ever sell my car.
I'm kinda getting worried that i wont get my wheels done by SSX though, and that was kinda of a big personal goal of mine.
Anyone know where i can get the new studs pressed in? (i still gotta buy them, but i figure it'll be more comforting to know.)

I took mine to a friend of mine that has a shop in redlands... but like Vipers said, any mechanic shop can do it. it is a common thing to do. (even wheels hops do it... go figure)
If I remember right, you can do the front your self, they are not to hard.... but the rears are a PITA!

and all i need to do are the front ones =)
yeah thats how you pull the new ones in.
also to get the old ones out you can use a couple lugs you dont want thread them on the stud (if you can) then wack the **** out of it to get it to push out the back side.
like I said the fronts you can do. its the rears that are a PITA if you need to do them. the rear hub assembly has to come apart to get the studs out. trust me, you dont want to do rears. on my drag car we had to put real long studs on...... it was not fun.
then I wound up just taking it to a shop so they couldd do it the right way.

a lot of times that will "mushroom" the stud making it even harder to get out..... but this is mostly true for things like ball joints.... you can give it a try if you want. but the "better" way is to hit the lug, nut the stud...... is up to you. liek I said, it can be done. in fact I think we opted to just hit the stud on the drag car. but being as that was 6 years ago, I also dont really remember.
