I just recently purchased an 89 TII from out of state and need to get it smogged so I can register it. All the emissions were removed and I installed an air pump, cat, and leaned it out with the standalone. I took it to a couple places, but they wouldn't inspect it because it failed visual for the intake and BOV among other things I'm sure. Does anyone know a place in the Bay Area (I'm in San Jose, but willing to drive) that will let me slide on the visual?

LOTS of places will ignore visual....avoid the chain-type places. Poorer sections of town are better. Pull in 20 minutes before they close on a Saturday, you'll have better luck.

I actually did take it to two small shops in South San Jose. One of them even directed me to another shop who said they might be able to help me. Needless to say they all failed me.
Why does so cal have all the goodies and hookups? hahaha
