Reputable Mechanic in San Diego?

Howdy

I'm picking up a '95 RX-7 after work today!! Only 36k miles and all stock, so fingers crossed she'll hold up. I don't plan on doing any mods except reliability mods, and I really want someone reputable to work on the car.

I've searched the archives high and low with no success; can anyone recommend any good shops/ mechanics in my area?

Cheers,

Sam

The only shop I could find when I was over there was Autotech Motorsports and I was very impressed. www.autotechmotorsports.com

call him up, go check them out. Sounds like a good place to start. Good Luck.

Good stuff, thanks!

Any other recommendations out there? Anying a little further north would be good - I'm just south of Escondido.

Definitely go to Pure Sports Racing, in Ramona.
They are rotary specialists, but the best thing about them is their attention to detail. Seth, the owner, will not even let you leave if everything is not how it should be! My FD is there right now actually, awaiting a rebuild!

Check them out!

Good luck

wow, did you find the 95 here or you having it shipped in? For minor stuff don't feel silly asking questions here, everybody has at some point.

Autotech. Try a search on them before you take your car there.

Don't limit yourself to a "near your house mechanic". You just bought yourself an FD, Meaning that you will quickly come to a realization on what is a luxury and what is a necessity with this car :) lol. A good FD mechanic is a necessity, a good FD mechanic near your house is the mother of all luxuries. A mediocre FD mechanic near your house is a luxury that most cannot afford.

My mechanic is a 140 miles away from my house (R&R Rotary in Upland). Automechtech is 1/2 mile from where I live and I don't even consider them. But that's just me :) .
