rear diff mounts?
I was re-installing my rear end the other day. On the diff, you have the two mounting points. When installing it back, do you tighten the rubber mounts very tight, therefore squishing the "teeth"?. Reason I ask, I was at the junkyard yesterday, and noticed one that left a gap between the teeth of the rubber mount and the Diff.
Hope I am clear enough. |
ahhh the devil.......(1)666 post!
i dont think so! when i changed the mounts on a s4II, i left a penny(width) sized gap and works fine no clunking! i could be wrong though, i mainly work on my FD! and i need a new diff! |
Teeth are there just to dampen it incase the mount breaks. Have never seen broken rear mounts on FCs yet.
