NorCal 7's August meet!!
My autometer boost gauge lights up an orangish color, matches nicely with my other gauges.
AS for the disorganized mess, I didn't see any of you bitches setting anything up so ummm, fawk u.
And I didn't do it to make myself feel special I did it to take charge so that we could have meets, I could have just not done anything and you probly really WOULD have club meets and stickers for WW.
ok i'm done ranting now.
I think that we should have the meets on sunday, I really think people like to have their saturdays which is why we are having rather miniscule turnouts. SO IF we are going to make it a set thing every month it should be on sundays, IMO.

No it has a white background and a silver surround but it glows orange, I'm sure you can get a black background one tho. I don't know what series it is, it came with the car.

Defi gauges, those match up pretty well.

Smartass!!
Nick, if you want a gauge that works and is accurate then don't buy an Autometer one. I had one in my FD and I have one in my TII. Both are junk in my opinion. Check out the Apex'i or Defi gauges. Both of them are great and from what I have seen personally the Defi gauges are about the most reliable and accurate gauges on the market. I know Blitz and Apex'i make really good gauges too, but I haven't had any experience with them at all. Or if you want my boost guage in the TII you can have it. It's just there because it came with the car, I would never pay money for one.
Jake, we weren't attacking you bro calm down.
I took just as much responsibility for it as you did. But Berry has a good point about a set date/time. So do we want to do the first Sunday or second Sunday of every month?

Attacking or not I was feeling a little unappreciated, but that's ok.
Why do you say autometer gauges are junk? Mine works fine as far as I can tell. besides it's not like there is much to a boost gauge.
...I never have and NEVER will care about my horrible spelling bert
-Zach I have an autometer boost gauge in my car...came with it. I don't plan on changing it out until I'm rich :P Just the essentials for now =/ I'll look into Apexi...like I said those Defi gauges are WIERD. (Like that bert?) I don't want to pay for all these little functions and stuff I don't need.

Jake, if you were to run two boost gauges at the same time (your Autometer and a pro calibrated lab gauge) you'd see just how far off your Autometer one is. It's the same way with every one of them I've ever seen. The ones I've owned suck *** too. Autometer is a great gauge for the American muscle car guys where exact accuracy doesn't mean too much. But with how delicate our cars can be, I want a gauge that's right on the money every time.
And Nick, all of that "extra crap you don't need" is stuff that could be really helpful for track days/AutoX or if something goes wrong. At least then you'll know exactly what your readings were. Just some food for thought. And I don't know if anyone told you or not but you can't spell for ****.
It's weird, not wierd.

a few random pics of the project on Latch's car:

9.5lb ACT prolite flywheel and counterweight

ACT street/strip disc and PP

if your shifter bushings feel loose i suggest replacing them or it could be grinding the shifter pivots like this has been doing. it's much easier to clean up with the transmission removed but the shifter itself is in pretty bad shape now.

Who's car are you talking about Ben? I don't think I know Latch. If so then I don't recognize the name. And Ben, you've rebuilt one of our transmissions before right? And when did you get/install an HKS SSQV??

Latch is from Fremont, he brought the car to me to do the rebuild on the transmission but after driving the car i didn't see a reason for it to need to be rebuilt and when removing the transmission i found the cause of the problem, the pilot bearing didn't feel like living anymore..
i haven't rebuilt an FC tranny yet but i have rebuilt many other manual transmissions including mazda ones so i don't foresee a problem with doing one.
i installed the SSQV about 2 months ago, i had it installed at the last meet we had with you but i don't think you looked when i had my hood up.

Damn, you should've slapped me and said "come here and look at this!!" I love seeing new mods on cars in the club!! How's your new turbo doing? I'm pretty sure that my tranny is going to need some love. I'm 90% sure that the 5th gear synchro has taken a ****. Plus, I'll have to install my new clutch and flywheel as well.
Zach
Zach
heh, well i can drive it and let you know my thoughts, it could just be the disc dragging or getting worn out.
you'll get to see plenty of my new mods when you get back, if i ever find the time to get them done that is, lol. i hate having my LT8s sitting here but no time to install it.
the turbo is doing fine, puts out a nice vibe but kind of howls but i guess that is to be expected with the .60 A/R cold side and i did port the inlet for more flow..
only thing that is an issue is the spring tension on the wastegate actuator is too weak, won't boost past 6psi for now but that is not a bad thing considering i need to upgrade the fuel system still and get the microtech installed.

Do you have a bigger fuel pump? If not then that Walbro 255 in my TII isn't being used and I'm upgrading when I get home. Let me know if you need it or not. I can't wait to get my new turbo and everything else when I get back.
Zach
Zach
i haven't decided on what fuel pump to run in it yet, if i decide on the walbro i'll let you know.
and as for the difference in the hybrid, it feels similar in power at 6psi as my old stocker did at full potential pushing 12-13PSI.

Damn, that's going to be nice!! Yeah, if you end up wanting the Walbro, just let me know and then you can go and pull it out of the car and drop the cash with Berry. And if you can find a need for that Starion FMIC or know someone who needs it let me know. Looking to get rid of it as well.

1. I know I can't spell for ****...never really cared ;[
2. Someone is selling the 4 gauges I would need...but for 800 which is a good deal meaning DEFI IS TO DAMN EXPENSIVE....I guess I could replace my autometer boost gauge with something else...still Defi gauges need a control box thing and all that crap that adds up to like $1000...yeah if I had 1k I'd get a ****** fmic...I just need gauges that..work?
-Just thought I'd add...can I slap you like 5 times when you come back to show you my mods Zach? I should have over 5 new ones ;p

Sure Nick, you can slap me five times. Just as long as I get to punch you in the arm one time after that.
And 1K for 4 gauges plus the link controller isn't that bad. I can probably swing you a better deal though.
Get with my buddy Reese. www.performanceconceptsonline.com He'll cut you a good deal and you'll be helping him to keep his 20B 10th AE!!!!!

I found a deal to get all that **** for $850 or so I think...but I don't really want to spend more than 500 for 4 guages...
boost, coolant temp, exhaust temp, air fuel

$850 for 4 gauges? are they gold plated or something? heh
Hey Zach, you think your pal Reese can get ahold of any RX-2 parts? Probably not a chance but I thought I would ask. I'd mainly be looking for suspension stuff.. since nothing else really exists for them in the aftermarket.
