That happened to me a few years back when I took my FC to California Speedway for the night drags they hold there. When I left in disgust @ 10 pm - after getting 2 runs in, and being at the track ALL DAY - I was pulled over by CHP on Cherry right after leaving the track. They cut off my ex, who was driving my Prelude with expired tags, to pull me over and give me a ticket for modified exhaust. He even had me pop my hood, but had no idea what he was looking at...good for me cause I had a 60-1 turbo and other goodies. But needless to say, it left a very bad taste in my mouth and I won't drag race there again. Either Palmdale, or the "shady" alternative...

 

you know what i have learned over the years of getting pulled over, they always look for an airfilter and a CARB number right next to it. all you have to do is relocate the filter with Samco funnel ducts and hide it with a heat shield. when they ask for you to pop the hood, they think they can relate to a honda engine and start picking out things. they pretty much leave me alone when when the first thing they point at is a shiny UIM, i tell them it is stock and show them the engine diagram from the manual. after feeling stupid, they tell me to have a nice day HAHA

 

hmmm thats sounds neat.. i ahve a k&n filter from pepboys (THE CONE ONE, i got it for free lol) on my fc and its black trim and the filter its like dark burgandish.. its pretty dark i gues its dirty lol but yea.. nothing shiny.. it kinda blends in to the motor.. pretty much it kinda looks stock lol hope fully if i get pulled over and ask me to pop my hood they wont notice it.. hahahaha

 

if i buy a universal greddy exhaust or those apexi that are legal.. do u think they send you the paper that says its 50 states legal? cuz i noticed that the catbacks it always says 50 states legal but they never sed anything about the universal once

Just sell the WRX and get an Sti. There are tons of them for sale because kids buy them up and then find out they can't afford them.
