Need stock 1990 AC looked at
 

Ive read through a bunch of threads and don't really feel confident doing this myself LOL. I believe it just needs a recharge. Need someone competent to take a look for me and do the repair of possible.

So what's the deal with it? Doesn't blow cold? Clutch on the compressor kicks on but then shuts itself off? Something get nuked?

To my knowledge, the RX7 FC's AC system is fairly standard. Any competent mechanic with an ASE cert in AC systems (or enough knowledge to service them in general) should be able to fix it just fine. Besides the arrangement of stuff, it's no different from any other car.

If it's just a recharge, you'll have to decide between trying to bust your butt finding some R12 or going through and retrofitting everything for R134a. Thankfully, Mazda designed their AC systems on the RX7 to be pretty robust. The heat exchangers and compressors are known to hold up to R134a retrofits pretty well. A friend of mine and I will be doing the conversion on an FB this weekend actually.
