Machine Shop In SF

Wondering if anyone knew a specific spot that would provide high quality work in the city, or if anyone knows if "Bayshore Engine Rebuilders" on 301 Barneveld Ave was any good... since I'm going to go there if no one recommends a shop. Basically going to have a welding/drilling/flattening/etc job on my GSL-SE front cover to get an S5 OMP to fit it.

Okay.. the Bayshore Engine Rebuilders are asking for more than what I can provide. If anyone knows of a good shop near the bay area, that does welding & etc. for cheap/er please let me know.. thanks.

I had Bayshore Engine rebuilders do some work for my Nissan motor. They were ok, nothing special but nothing to complain about either. Ive also had work done before at RPM machine shop. They are a small small shop right next to Faxon Garage on Faxon off Ocean. The guy you wanna talk to is Steve. They were really cheap compared to other machine shops. There's a machine shop right across the street from my shop on San Mateo Ave. Their called Sunset machine shop. Guy to talk to there is Gary. Lemme kno if your interested. Ill get you the phone numbers.

wait....are you sure you have to get this done? maybe its not a gsl-se front cover. it sounds like a 12a front cover. unless im wrong and the s4 oil pump mounts different than the s5.

The gsl-se has the area for the oil metering pump, its just that the areas where it bolts up are completely different. -se has 2 bolts and the S5 has 3. none of the holes line up and the pad on the -se isnt big enough for the 3rd S5 hole. Plus, someone else on the forums said they had to do same thing for his T2 S5 swap.

ahh....i wasn't sure how the s5 oil pump mounted up.

I would have Rick's Rotary work on it.

Do you know if they do welding/fabrication jobs? Some other people I know recommended places that don't provide such services. Their website gives me the impression that they are only a tune-up and performance parts seller/installer, but I could be wrong.

gave them an email, hope to hear from them.
