nope, definitely not free considering fuel for one trip is $320. but when the shops in the bay area start at $5k and go up from there for a rotary rebuild it's not too difficult to steal some business even with towing expenses. although it was a bit short notice but i'll be back a few times in the next few months.
i did set a new personal record though, 1200 miles in 22 hours(not like the old beater ford could do any more than that..). i need to get the REPU done and set up to tow, at least the heater works in it. i did spot 2 FBs in San Bruno while getting gas 2mins apart from each other, one had a chick driving who was getting gas. but then it must have been a guy with long hair because it still had oil in it and it was moving under its own power! j/k whoever you were. |
i wish you would train a dude in norcal to do rebuilds, doing shit myself is time consuming and i suck at it
I think I was supposed to learn from him...instead I dicked around in the shop and cleaned parts lol
most people got bored and left, it wasn't a rare occasion that i had people in the shop during all different stages of the process.
damn it nick you could have been making money rebuilding instead of delivering pizzia's
Pshh I'd have to get a shop AND spent hella time during my nights lol...I'd prolly drop out of school if I were to rebuild motors...so much potential money to be made lol
lol a motor a month would do you good and who says you need a shop you just need tools
then he could stay up for 30 hours at a time with no sleep and cans of monster energy all over the floor.
it's a gangsta life being a rotary mechanic, not for the faint of heart! PSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHBOOOM! dammit, there went another iron.. this month alone i have driven 1200 miles straight in one day over 22 hours to pick up a car and re-rebuilt an engine(somehow a bolt made it into the motor, don't look at me, there was multiple hands in the install) on a patio on a cold drizzly wet day after driving 300 miles with basic hand tools and half a grenaded motor, helped install it and get it running idling and adjusted before driving 300 miles back home. i'm sure something else will come up in the day or 2 before the month ends. lets not forget i almost died on the way to get here in the first place, i think i still have a shit stain in my drawers from the 15,000lbs pushing my ass down the mountain with no brakes. |
That's why you shoulda staid in Yuba City :)
