Help On Shipping Car
I found a 87 T2 and I really want to buy it. By the way I live In a little town called Avenal in California. The car is in Burbank in Los Angeles and it is 170 miles away from my town. The engine is good but has a serious oil leak and cannot be driven. How much would it cost to have it shipped 170 miles?Or if i were to pull it with my parents truck, what would i need to not get pulled over? :dark:

Buy a running car or atleast one from upstate. Towing a car through those LA mountains is a pain in the ass, worse if you dont know what youre doing. Look in other places, up north flatter ground.
You'll need a tow dolly a hitch rated for the dolly, a big enough truck to pull/control towing a car. A good driver behind the wheel But really buy a running car, trust me its less of a headache trying to find out whats wrong when its already running semi decent. |

The car i dont know exactly were in burbank it is but Im in Avenal,CA 93204. I was told by another RX7 enthusiast that the oikl leak looked like it was coming from the oil cooler or oil cooler lines. Heres a pic.

oh dang, that thing is clean. i dont blame you for wanting to go so far to pick it up
|
Thanks
Yeah the car does look clean but im not sure if i should buy it or not . I am not looking to get this car as a daily driver, i want it as a project car. By the way the car cost $ 1500. Give me some opinions.

Im just a few minutes away from Burbank. PM me his name & # and will check it out/confirm the problem FREE OF CHARGE

Dude pay me( or any other good local boy) to fix the leaks and come pick it up and drive it home. Or spend a day down here and fix it yourself. FAR CHEAPER THAN TOWING IT. Just my opinion on the matter. Driving it back would be a good memory to start off with the car.

Oil leak keeps you from turning it one to check everythign else about the car, for oen thing if it actually runs, if the ac works, the electrical is good, if the oil/coolant seals are good... it keeps you from driving it to check out the driveline parts, to feel the suspension.
Oil goes through the oil cooler first, so if the leak is there, what on the rest of the engine was starved of oil? Alot of what ifs dont you think...? Keep looking I say, I mapped out your town and looks like youre about middle of SF and LA, I have seen alot of decent Rx7s in the SF parts of craigslist and such. |
Avenal...state pen.
