CA Smog - Car is out of state
My car is out state once again this year for smog time, this will be third or fourth year it has been out of state. Has anyone had an issue with over using a statement of facts? Ever had a drive by to make sure your car is out of the state?
|
This post is a bit confusing, are you trying to get CA smog for a car that's out of state?
|
every year when my smog is due the car is "out of state" just wondering if anyone has had an issue with over-using the out of state smog loop hole.
|
You just told us " every year when my smog is due the car is "out of state".."
So.. Have YOU had any issues for those years? What is this loophole that you speak of? Inquiring minds would like to know. |
It is confusing, so we're all left to guess what he's asking about. Dude, say what you mean don't mean what you say.
My guess, he has out of state plates. How long can he get away with not changing. Technically, I believe it's supposed to be done within 90 days (maybe even less) of taking residency in California. Practically, you have to do it in less than 90 days once you get pulled over and ask about them and you respond you just brought the car in last week. The 90 day clock definitely starts then. |
I thought he was trying to he has plates in california but his car is not in the state when smog test come around could be completely wrong, the way he words it leaves many ways it can be interpreted
|
My guess is that he is checking the appropriate box in section B of this form: http://www.smogtips.com/reg256.pdf and sending it in with his registration renewal.
|
Sorry if you don't get it but I'm looking for help from those that "get it"
|
might have to look into this....

Perhaps those that don't "get it" are trying to "get it" to see if there is a way they can be of assistance. Perhaps there are those that "get it" and assistance is no longer needed in which case that could simple be stated as in the following example "thanks looks as if this is taken care of but thank you"
just sayyin |
Said differently, not much motivation to help this guy out with that attitude.
Is there an ignore button? It seems well deserved for this idiot. Just saying......... |

if the car is really "out of the state", then you should be OK. i don't know how the state feels about you keeping CA tags on a car thats almost always outside of CA, though. if the car really is in CA & you're just saying it's "out of state", then you're in for it once they find out. http://www.bar.ca.gov/80_BARResource...ns_Part_1.html 2nd question in the FAQ's. |
:gayboy::gayboy:HAHAH Translastion "I'm not going to help you" really means "I CAN'T help you because I'm clueless" move along trolls. I think the civic homos are starting a circle jerk you can join in on.

That is because you have the communication skills of retarded uneducated ghetto chump! An example of someone who has destroyed too many brain cells from a life time of glue sniffing perhaps? |

...and clearly, you don't know, since you're the one trying to get an answer to your sorta-half-asked-but-too-scared-of-the-law-to-come-out-and-say-it question in the first place...

lol I'm pretty sure that asking for info on historical plates is legal though.... Don't ask a question if you don't want to hear answers.

Guys and girls,
Ignore this prick. He lives in his own world. Honestly, just don't post in this thread in any way. You're just feeding the monkey if you do. He doesn't get it, and he obviously never will. I've never felt more strongly that this forum is in need of an ignore function. If I were a mod I'd lock him out from this forum just for being such a complete disrespectful idiot. |
