You should try to come to this https://www.rx7club.com/west-rx-7-forum-193/official-3rd-annual-pizza-cruise-may-1st-details-inside-so-cal-949962/

I think it would depend on what part of LA you will be in and how far you are willing to drive. There are regular meets in Gardena, Long Beach (???), and Chino Hills (???). If you can get out to Adam's Track in Perris to see some events you might like that as well, or check out events at Irwindale speedway.

Will depend on what week you're here, too, as many of the larger regular meets are monthly events.

The Chino Hills meet on the 28th of April will be pretty large; it's the anniversary of the meet moving to CH, and at last year's there were over a hundred cars present (of many types, not just -7's)

Yet the weekly meet usually nets only a couple dozen cars most times.

The upcoming Pizza Cruise should have a goodly turnout, too. The November Turkey Run is generally strong, as well.

It's all in your timing, and the luck of the draw.

Cool thanks, well I'll be in CA 27th May till 6th of June
Dont mind driving at all, will be renting a car to get around anyway

Our local Santa Cruz "meets" consist of us sitting in the Safeway parking lot with me in my RX7, John in his 240SX, Tom in his 510, Brandon in his G20, Marcus in his LS1-510, Adam in his 240SX, and Tim in his R6. Sometimes a few more people. Quite the meet LOL.

I hate big cities but the one nice thing is the meets and the size of them versus our po-dunk meet.

what part of Cali will you be in?

DCrosby 04-19-11 06:24 PM

Don't forget to google, Cars and Coffee Irvine, and Supercar Sunday in Woodland Hills, two very cool car-enthusiast events, with typically at least one FD at the Supercar Sunday Event ;)
And those typically run Every Sunday, unless it rains, which is thankfully over for this year I suspect....

As I've heard from people who have lived in Europe, and people who have housed visitors from there, you may not have a realistic idea of how far apart things are.

UK largest contiguous N-S dimension: ~590 miles

California largest N-S dimension: ~800 miles

Even though only the bottom half really counts, things are a bit more spread out here.

Siraniko 04-19-11 07:38 PM

are you saying that north of grapevine doesnt count??? lol

lol yes thanks, I must be a half wit too!

I've been to a few states in America, and yes I realise it's a bit bigger than my country, but a bit of a drive in a convertible mustang in california...sounds good to me lol
My aim when holiday-ing in America is to travel round and see the areas, not just to sit on a beach all day :icon_tup:

I'll be flying into LA, but will be travelling a bit, maybe even get to Las Vegas

WTH you talking about old man? North of the 14 doesn't even count... and neither does living off the 101 on the Vermont exit, as in your case!

You make a good living getting into dude's cars?

Siraniko 04-20-11 08:20 PM

How many times do I have to tell you that I live near Temple and Rampart, not 101 and Vermont. lol

That first weekend you are here is Memorial Day weekend. Typically everyone is trying to get out of LA so that Friday from about 2 -8pm the traffic will be horrible.
That Monday itself will be horrible coming from Vegas to LA, San Francisco to LA, and San Diego to LA. Horrible meaning about double the time it usually takes. IMO avoid driving to any major cities on Monday and enjoy wherever you are at.

Siraniko 04-23-11 04:37 PM

If I dont go out of town, you are welcome to stop by and have a few beers while having some rotary talk. Go Dodgers and Orange County Kings

HOZZMANRX7 04-23-11 10:45 PM

If you can delay your trip a little bit, the best regular RX7 meet in So Cal is regularly every September on a Saturday in the parking lot of the Mazda National HQ. ;)

The Cars n Coffee guys really hate that fact. :)

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:04 PM.
