THE 210 IS OPEN ALL THE WAY TO THE 30 so its a stright pass....Every time I go up to crestline I always take dave's route its the best, hardly no cars not alot of long turns and it takes off about 5 mins from bottom to top. OLD WATERMAN CANYON RD RULES

Good luck. My friend lives in Running Springs, so I go up the hill quite a bit.

Can't think of a funny story but once Dave and I left the shop to go to Joe's house in the FD. Right when we hit the 15 from the 210 the traffic was horrible. We took about 2 hours in traffic from there to just past the 138 freeway because of a fire. He had fun telling a kid next to us in traffic that his FD was a 1983 Pinto with a bodykit. haha we laughed, because the kid liked his car and was asking him what kind of car it was.
He also told me how he helped out during the fires up by where you live. He said he was trying to help the firefighthers but they would not let him. He told me he took a fire hose and started helping out anyway.

Fris,
thank you for the story. When David was 7 he stuck his foot in the spin cycle of the washing machine. He had 3 spiral breaks between his ankle and knee. When people would ask him what happened he would tell them he had been bitten by a shark. Almost everyone he told that story to believed him. i love the Pinto story.

*sniffle* what a tear jerker..i know what its like to lose a loved one, i've only met dave twice. the first time was at fris' shop, he was working on vipers car..i dident get to talk to him to much cause he was busy..the other time he came up to RR&R in santa ana, when he got there i remember him saying how bad the traffic was for him..i said whats up? he said "not much.." i then asked about his leg he said that "it felt alright." he was there to wire a haltech up to a second gen, i help'ed out a little with wire connectors and such..from what i know of him he was an awsome guy..i thought it was cool that he rolled his own cig's..even tho that conversation was an everyday one that most people have. what was even cooler then that? was when he was done we wanted to pay him and all he asked for was a six pack of newcastle..(rock on, dave..)
sandi, im sorry about this..im sure that you are a great person, and the last person that deserves this to happen to them..it makes me think about how fragile and precious life really is..i would like to come and say hi to him sometime and to you as well. take care daves mom..

I have plenty of funny stories about Dave.
One sticks out in my mind is when we were in my Red TII at a stop light and beat up on a supercharged Mustang up to 90. All this while Dave held on to a large Dr. Pepper with no lid on, trying to not spill and soda was coming out of his nose because he was laughing so hard. Most of it was due to....
-->20 minutes earlier we were eating Quiznos making fun of that same mustang because he had these huge fat slick tires on it. Dave said, "that boy better be packing some heat under the hood with those meats". 19PSi on a GT35R freshly tuned by Dave gave it a nice beating.
I really miss those days.

Great Story
I loved the Mustang story. I have a really close friend who drives a Mustang and I couldn't convince her to buy an RX8 instead. I love to imagine Dave with his buddies laughing and having a great time. Again, thanks for keeping his memories alive. I guess at some point all the stories will end and then I'm not sure what I will do. Maybe by then I will hurt less. Until that time arrives, thanks.

Hi Daves Mom!
I am Dorothy. Socalrotor's better half, and we have never met, but i wanted to say Dave will live forever thru the memories and love he shared with his friends and acquaintances in this world. GuitarJunkie has become immortal on the forum, thru all his personal kindnesses and mechanical abilities, not to mention the rotorman stickers, t-shirts and tatoos! Socal wears his rotorman shirt every week, and all the pics i have taken recently will prove that! I can even post a few when i get home tonite.
Anyways, rest assured that the many memories people have of Dave are alive, they may be burried beneath thier life's everyday rig-a-ma-roll, but they will never be gone. You can only try to bring them out. You are doing a fine job helping them resurface, and keeping Dave's spirit fresh for the many friends that miss him deeply. Dave will be here forever, and You will have a place here too!!
Take care!
