Rotary Extreme Bousou7 For Music Video

Hey ya'all,

First and foremost - THANK YOU TO ALL MY CUSTOMERS PAST-PRESENT-FUTURE !!!!

Thank you to the FD and FC guys willing to wait while I finish my car for the music video. I 100% understand that waiting forever sucks and even more so when your waiting on someone else to finish your stuff for you.

I am so sorry its taken so long and taking so long but I will do my best to serve you the best I can for as long as I am in business.

Moderators - This is a personal thread about me - my car - not selling anything. This will be my build thread for my own personal RX7 for my own personal music video that I am making for the Rotary RX7 community.

I already have 2 songs done and the RX7 song will be the last. All will be released with videos. No I am not a signed artist - but my friend is a producer for SONY.....

I am doing this to fulfill a life long dream of making music, something my dad and mom loved but could not pursue professionally due to their parents saying it was stupid and for them not being able to because they had to take care of their own family.

This just isn't for me.... its for them, its for all of us.

Thank you all for standing by my side and teaching me how to become a better person and how to deal with people from all over.

This ones for YOU!!!!!!!!

I will post pics as I go.

Off to LA on weds to get all my stuff for my car.

Ben

Yes YEs YES !!!!!!!!

Actually I have had a few set-backs.

1. 100% my fault - I still need to finish the remaining FC VM kits before I can start my own personal endeavor. However I don't see anything wrong with acquiring all my parts in the mean time.
2. I finally finished my last FD vm kit so I can send my FD to the body shop to fix the rear quarter panel. (with the blown motor - still starts after 7 years...amazing)
3. I suffered permanent nerve damage, I have a herniated disc going 4mm to the right between the C6 and C7 vertebrae. Affected muscle - just look up what is affected because I am experiencing it all and mu upper right peck and right tricep are both weaker and smaller due to muscle dystrophy. (happened at work)

So I have to have a helping hand to do some things.

Still, nothing has changed and I am still going to go ahead as planned. I actually am going to have 3 low budget music vids coming out....eventually. I wrote the lyrics and sing in them.

This thread is the build for the RX7 in the rotary song. The last vid I will release after the other 2.
1. first song - jazzy hip hop
2. second song - belongs in the movie the secretary (BDSM)
3. third song - rotary rock song

but first things first - finish the remaining FC VM kits.

update if anyone cares... project cars still on hold until I finish the 4 remaining FC vm kits.

Customers are always first.

I should start building the FD and FC in summer time when I'm done with everything else.

If anyone wants to be in the rotary themed video ... here is what I would like you to have.

Just bring what you got - show cars to in process cars, I don't care.

The reality is we have what we have and we are who we are..... so who am I just make something that would mislead who I really am.

I can only be me and I want you to only be you - thats the best way that we can be.

Lets celebrate our rotary life !!!

p.s. yes all you V8 swapped RX7 guys are invited for the video too

Hey - long time no chat... How ya been.

Well, I have 4 more FC vm kits to make before I can get started on my car.

I will make an announcement here with plenty of time.

Honestly, sometime next year. I still need to make 2 videos (nothing fancy) before this one.

Takes forever when your doing everything on the weekends.

I have to finish the last 4 FC vm kits before I can touch my cars - its only fair.

After the customers are taking care of then I'll start on my project car.

Damn - 3 years later I finally get to work on my own car.
Still gonna do the music video - other things obviously did NOT go the way I hoped so the bigger stuff just aint gonna happen..lol

So I will be selling alot of my personal stuff to fund the rest of this project, I mean who needs 4 old school hks bov's, 3 used hks rs intakes, rb single tip exhaust, tons of usable silicone, factory dual oil coolers and yes my 99 twins.
Im selling the 99 twins to fund the BNR stage 3 non seq set-up. Ill make a for sale thread in March.

So onto the 1st day, the very first day getting to my own car after it sat as a jig since I bought it 7 years ago. Damn it felt good.

I know my pics wont wow anyone, we've all seen them a thousand times before....but...I dont have anyone else but you guys to share it with..Awwwww

So today I got the airbox,y-pipe, turbo inlet pipes, front bumper and the whole exhaust off. Im keeping the down pipe and mid pipe but will be selling the Racing Beat Single Tip catback later on.
I also got a bendpak floor lift. Once I have the car running again Ill use it to work on the suspension and install the body kit.

I found the missing tab to my driver side dash vent-hope JB weld holds it.

Also found an inline filter separated from the body on the silicone line going to the y-pipe.

I found out that my mini fridge was disconnected out side and I lost my ego waffles - crap.

More CRAP - ok guys seriously I need some help. I googled it and its just tons of speculation how this happens but I want to know the best way to clean it up. ALL the aluminum and some metal and the bolts in the engine bay has white crystal growing on them. It was not like that 2 months ago and I noticed it after some heavy rain storms. In 7 years it stayed clean - so what happened. Along with this mold appeared inside the car on the door panels, shift boot and lower center console and the rear strut bar. Seriously .. like it happened over night. So whats the best way to get rid of this stuff.

enjoy the pics, Ben

So I got the tranny and rear end out today.
Axles were seized in the hubs so I just took the whole hub out too.
I found out I had a racing beat puck clutch - too bad its pretty much done. The flywheel is worn down like Benz AMG rotors...lol
During this week I have to get the engine out and everything off to bring it to Mo at Palm Tree Rotary.
Today my best friend was my tranny jack!!!

Day 3

I got the engine out and onto a dual furniture dolly set-up. Turn out its not easy to support the engine without it tipping over, hitting turbo stuff or the sneaky oil pan sensor. So I got one big furniture dolly and then flipped and smaller one upside down on top and it supports it by the pan pretty good.

I also forgot to disconnect the top PS line going down to the rack - oops, I was wondering why the engine started to tilt. Lines OK.

Yesterday I finally got the Harbor Freight bin rack I always wanted, so presidents day 20% off then another 20% off one item coupon and walla. Its actually made really well and is going to make my life so easy now that I can keep bolts separated with their perspective manifolds, accessories, panels and what nots. because you know - you gotta keep em separated...lol

While removing the engine harness from inside the car I found the turbo timer (blitz) and also discover I have the HKS AFR spliced in hidden under the carpet.

Sowing off my Mazda RX7 authentic pink camo floor mats.

When I drained the oil - OMG. Running it with the blown motor to move it around put so much unburnt gas into the mix and it was so dark - like dark chocolate.

Because my car was so high, I hit the canopy cover frame and had to finagle stuff around but I eventually got it.

Day 4 will be taking off all the accessories to put on the ported motor I have that's been sitting in the garage for like 3 years - yes I turned it by hand.

Time to rest for work - graves...

Day 5

I researched how to remove and re-install the big ole flywheel nut without any special tools.

It turns out the the Har bor F reight (HF) engine stand arms will hold the flywheel by the pins in 2 locations.

At Dale Hard Ware I bought a 2 1/8 socket and had to get a 1/2 female to 3/4 male adapter to use it. I used my HF impact gun to remove the nut (after 10sec of continuous ratcheting).

I transferred the fly wheel to to new engine and hooked up the engine stand arms in the same configuration.

I pinned the engine against my tool box and with one foot on the engine mount I pulled up with my HF Icon Tq wrench. I torqued down the nut to 250 ft lbs.

I know its supposed to be 350ft lbs and this is what I read. Tq to 150 ft lbs, make some marks and then tighten it 60 more degree, which is point to point of one side of the 6 sided nut which I read gets you close to 400 ft lbs. 6x6=36 or 60 degrees 6 times equals 360.

So I tq it to 250 ft lbs (the max of my wrench), then put some marks and hit it with the HF impact gun and got about 20 degrees or so. I hope Im close to 350 ft lbs. I think it should hold.

Ben

Day 7

Oh man, where to start.

After finishing the FC VM GB......it was time to let go of my S4 Silver Turbo 2 (had a blown motor). Seriously Im really sad. I worked a deal with Mo at Palm Tree Rotary and did a package deal.
He got the car, body kit, bnr turbo, racing beat cat back..a ton of misc parts. Another S5 turbo engine and tranny, a good FD motor and a bad FD motor for parts.
1st Trip Started 4am Sat morning and I got home from the 2nd trip 2pm Sun. 250 miles each way. Me and the wifey spent the night in Porterville before making the final trip home.

I did score an Xcessive LIM from Mo ... woot woot !!!!!!!!!!

Day 8

lots of research

on the to do list

12v from battery to coil with relay - https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...stion-1124412/ and https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...iagram-964089/ (use relay diagram in fuel pump re-wire)

solenoid upgrade - https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...roject-966011/ (try to find parts to replicate)

solenoid rewire - https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...hange-1136918/ (keep upgraded solenoids in stock location if possible - closer = shorter vacuum line)

simplified seq vacuum lines - https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...-turbo-749702/

fuel pump re-wire - https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...l-pump-847009/

Looking at this for the 12v battery to coil and the Fuel pump relay mod - https://cj-motorsports.com/products/fuel-pump-relay-kit

Anyone please chime in.

The real Day 8 part 1
I ordered some used parts, I was lucky to get them. When they arrived - A steal on pricing turned into it was worth what I paid for. Still I saved a ton.

HKS Twin Power - harness cover burned, cut it open and wires were fine inside. Maybe an engine fire?
HKS turbo timer - had a loose object inside and found a diode got loose. maybe it got to hot and the solder melted or it wasnt in the trace hole enough to begin with - anyways I fixed it. I wont know if it work until my cars all back together - sigh.
