Veteran Banner Addition
Hello fellow forum members!
Are you an active duty, retired member, or a veteran of the US Armed Forces or Canadian Forces? RX7Club is proud to recognize its members who served or continue to serve our nations' combat teams with a new addition to a member's tagline - a "Veteran" status banner. This rollout is perfectly timed with the upcoming Veteran's Day on November 11! This is what each banner will look like (you may also notice it under my profile name too): https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...2c2926e929.jpg Updated Veteran Banners for each recognized branch of service, effective 14 Apr 2021. This banner is available for all forum members who serve(d) in the Canadian Forces, US Army, US Air Force, US Coast Guard, US Marine Corps, and US Navy. If you are on active duty, retired, or a veteran then please respond to this thread by requesting the appropriate service banner. Then, one of our Administrators or IB Staff members will add the usergroup to your profile. An example to request the banner: "I would like to add the Navy Vet banner to my profile, please!" or "Army vet here." You may also share a photo (in good taste - no Abu Ghraib or disparaging photos) and/or a short description of how long you served and what MOS/NEC/specialty you held. This is NOT a requirement to get the banner. It is just for bragging rights and learning something more about each other. My thanks to all who served and all who continue to serve! |
An example of a brief description and photo, should you choose to share:
I'm a retired Navy Vet. Served from Jul 1990 - Jul 2016. My rate was Aviation Electronics Technician (AT) and retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer (SCPO) (equivalent to E-8 for other branches). https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...3936b6680c.jpg Observing flight operations onboard USS GEORGE H.W. BUSH (CVN-70), Nov 2011. |
Please add a US Marine Corps Veteran banner to my profile. Thank you.
|
alemmons,
Thanks for being the 1st member to request a banner! One of our Admin staff will help you shortly. It may take a day or two for the banner to appear. Happy Veteran's Day and Semper Fi! |

KC REPU,
Thanks for sharing the photo! I should have an iron-on crow floating around a storage box. We'll get your banner taken care of shortly. I was surprised that the ex-America was scuttled from weapons tests. That's a shame! The Spruance had some longevity. I think she was a part of a carrier battlegroup that I was a part of but don't recall. Maybe it's time to crack open a cruise book? Thanks for your service and Hoooyaa! |

When I look at the background mural, the ship's masts resemble the front end of an AK-47 series rifle. Our Admin team should be addressing everyone's request very shortly. Please be patient in the meantime. |
ASROC (approaching Mach 1,...trainer, due to the day-glow orange stripe on the torpedo). Circa about 1978, USS California CGN-36. Taken from the flying bridge. Film,...it was not an easy picture and is NOT photoshopped.
Glad you got to see it! Todd. |
All requests completed. Thanks for waiting, everyone!
wetminkey, That was a cool shot! Was the camera's shutter clicking away? I think the California was part of the Vinson Battle Group during my Westpac '94 deployment. I always appreciate the vintage photos. DocHoliday89, It's good to see some Coast Guard representation on the forum! Thank you for your service! |
Thanks for adding the banner. However, I believe there is a glitch in the matrix as I can now see the moderator forums
|
AE_Racer,
Reload your web browser then log back in. Do you still have access to the Mod forums? I checked your profile and it should not be available. Does anyone else have a similar issue? |
closed browser, logged out then back in, still there.
|
Copy. Thanks for the feedback! Let me call in the "big guns" then!
|
@AE_Racer, et al,
There was an error with the coding of the Veteran banner that is now corrected. Thank you for catching this error! |

Is that an ASROC? I've never had the pleasure to see 1 in the flesh. What ship was that on - a CG?
Thanks for sharing the photo & happy Veteran's Day, brother! |
