I'm not paying extortion money to Photobucket. They can eat sh*t.
But if admins allow me to edit my own build thread over several months I can probably move everything to host elsewhere.
Otherwise this forum will suffer what could be a nail in the coffin with competition with Facebook groups.

And it seems like half the links of most every image search in Google is a low res thumbnail that links to that stock "Please update your account" image, too.
Unbelievable.
Unbelievable.

Hi everyone,
We have changed the post-edit time limit, so that you can go back and edit older posts that are now missing images.
Instead of relying on any third party image hosting service, I encourage everyone to host their images here at the Club, that way we'll never need to worry. So long as the Club is online, so will all of your imagery.
Just click on the image button in the post editor

Just because i am curious, how hard is it for you to do a search and replace in users posts? I have rehosted all my Photobucket images on my servers, but kept the photobucket folder structure intact, so that if you just replace
"http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v64/Zepticon/"
with
"http://www.zepticon.no/images/"
then all my links work again
"http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v64/Zepticon/"
with
"http://www.zepticon.no/images/"
then all my links work again

Others tho who have 20-50 page long worklogs may have a harder time. On another board i have a 400+ picture worklog that would be a problem to do by hand (but luckily they have a system where they downloaded and hosted localy all [img] links)

Our tech guys are working on a solution, but find and replace may be the best way. Please share the word to other affected community members to post up in here with some rough estimates on number of images etc.

There's a workaround for photobucket.... a bit of code that will beat the block.... I've put it into place on the RX7fb forum today and all our photobucket links are working fine again....
Admins, PM me if you want the code.

Anything put in an [img] tag should be grabbed and hosted, and the post should automatically update to the new local img source.
