Question Excessive Censorship?

I have no problem that the forums censor certain inflammatory words; this helps facilitate a cordial and helpful environment. However, as we are all aware, car repair often involves double entendres and words which are both the correct technical term and slang for something not car-related at all.

I understand that the word kenobi (minus the e and the i) is british slang for male genitalia, but is it REALLY necessary to censor it? This is just one example. I see censored words all over posts which were clearly typed to be helpful and not at all to be inflammatory or degrading. It seems like certain common technical terms should be white listed. If someone is using these terms incorrectly to be a real prickly pear, they can still be reported.

As a 12A RX-7 owner, I think I should be able to describe the thing thing on the dashboard labeled "choke" without being censored.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

I'm also from Santa Cruz and can confirm that most of us are baked out of our minds.

Ok well I think this thread proves that I'm the only one who gets censored when I post the word "****".

I'm not sure how this is relevant, but I usually try to finish my car work before I get baked out of my mind. Not fun looking for tools when you can't remember what tool you're looking for.

well you do live in santa cruz, the local internet there probably censors rude words and replaces them with flower symbols.

the whole county was built around hippieism. funny that the hippies now drive teslas instead of VW vans.
