new format

new things are nice, but not when they take up half your usable screen.

Not liking the "Related Thread" at the bottom of the thread I'm reading. if you scroll too fast, it puts you in the "Related Thread" and they get jumbled.

This. It's quite literally about 1/3rd of the window on my computer at work. Non-scrollable portions of a webpage are the worst idea ever. I'm not a mobile user, but I've feeling that it is even worse for them. Especially when it's the portions of a webpage that are unimportant. The bottom bar is especially ridiculous, it moves buttons from the scrollable page to a real estate hog of a bar for no justifiable reason.

The funny thing is, I'm a web developer (C#, MVC, SQL, Razor, HTML5, Bootstrap, JQuery, JavaScript, etc...) and I'm not digging this format.

i don't even know wtf that related thread bs is, or even which thread i'm replying to. does it just pick some random crap with similar words and mashes it all into one long piece of crap?

sometimes you just have to get used to a layout, but this one takes more than it gives.

Let's go back to the previous format. This new format is the worst!

I agree with what everyone is saying and would like to add that I'm still using a 4x3 shape monitor, and already feeling the crunch. I can't imagine how much worse it would be on a 16x9 monitor with its already significant amounts of Steven Seagal's letterbox 2000 induced squinting going on. For you 16x9 guys, this new format must be like that one skit on MAD TV. Does anyone remember it?

Where did the quick reply go?

Is everything tiny now or am I mistaken? I have to zoom to 125% to read anything.

I don't like change...

Speaking of which, when is the main banner going to change that was going to happen a year ago?

I hate it too, and I am not some old fogey that doesn't like change.

What i hate the worst is the related thread BS. It is totally useless, often times linking a classifieds add to a tech discussion....

I dislike it so much, that this is my first time posting in the "website discussion" section of ANY forum that I have been on in the past 10 years.

This goes in line with the addition of ads to the mobile app. Internet Brands is on a rampage, ruining all forms of forum use.

so now it's my job to find the infinite scroll button, wherever it is? because it isn't located on that bar for me.

hit "classic next gen"..instead of "classic next gen-Infinite scroll".

uh..that would be the box in the very Lower left of the screen!

not on my screen it isn't.

edit: i found it, however that option was already in use... who really looked at this style and thought it was a good one? still stuck with the auto reply bar, the mounted top banner and the related thread BS.

I couldn't find it either till I scrolled all the way to the bottom. There is a drop down on the lower left. Still didn't help - scrolling sucks with this new format.

I think they finally fixed it. Not the little rotor thing, but the way the forum looks appears to be back to normal, or at least to a usable format.

I'm using -- Classic Next Gen.

Woo thanks! I couldn't see a damn thing. Be nice if they had added a dark theme again (easier on the eyes) instead of that ridiculous thing blocking the screen
