I was literally just looking at these. Do you have any personal suggestions of where & what to purchase as a reservoir?

Thanks for the post. We don't have any specific suggestions for the reservoir - our other customers just search on line until they find a size and shape that meets their installation needs. One guy even made a custom one out of aluminum - I think I I have a photo of that somewhere and I should it and post it :)

I've been using this part for over a year now, [(N326-15-350) 86-88 Rx7 Radiator Overflow Bottle]
My original coolant overflow tank is located in front of the rad, but this other tank fits on the driverside shock tower. I drilled in a hole, threaded in a nylon nipple (applied some epoxy), and ran a hose/brake line.

This is my favorite mod, so far. The 2 stoke oil is always cooler and cleaner than the motor's oil. The motor oil level doesn't decrease at all. And I could use synthetic motor oil, if I choose. One time, I ran low on 2-stoke oil in the reservoir, so I just topped it up with 10w40...no problem.

I also think this method is easier, simpler, neater and more efficient than pre-mixing. I swear the pre-mix guys are burning way more oil.

^Can you post some pics of your setup? I think it would benefit more people than just me and help RWS out with their awesome product as well.

Overall Review: Two Thumbs up!

Great product, great customer service, works as advertised.

Pros: Allows the injection of "clean" 2 cycle oil via the stock OMP versus using motor oil, helping to reduce carbon buildup. Inexpensive. Excellent support and very cool company!

Cons: None. Pretty easy installation.

Wanted to share my install of the Rotary Aviation OMP adapter. Worked with Dominic from Real World Solutions, the distributors for the OMP adapter and for other rotary products such as RA Super Seals: http://www.rotaryaviation.com. Have had great experiences with Dominic and Laura in the past as I use their RA Super Seals in my car as well. Very good people and are committed to the rotary community.

This modification has been on my list for the past few years and now that the car was in the shop decided to add on the OMP Adapter. For me, it's never a bad idea to replace the use of motor oil as an internal lubricant with a clean source of oil. The RA OMP Adapter fits the bill. From the Real World Solutions website:

"Wankel engines such as the one used in the MAZDA RX7 sports car, need oil in the combustion area for lubricating the metal seals. Most stock rotary engines use a metering pump which injects a small amount of engine oil from the oil pan into the intake manifold and/or directly into the combustion chamber. Engine oil is designed to lubricate sleeve bearings and carry heat from the engine interior to some cooling areas. In the RX7, the heat is removed from the oil via an oil cooler.

When engine oil is injected into the combustion chamber, it only is partially burned, leaving some unburned deposits behind. These deposits can build up and reduce engine performance, cause apex seals to stick and leave to poor compression and an eventual engine overhaul.

One obvious method of preventing this is to disconnect the metering pump altogether and mix two-stroke oil to the gasoline, like some older two-stroke engines require. With this method it has been demonstrated that two-stroke oil is an effective lubricant and there is no build up of combustion residues. The Metering Pump Adapter, as offered by Real World Solutions, takes the solution one step further by allowing the builder to continue using the stock metering pump, but supply it with two-stroke oil."

The install of the OMP Adapter is very straightforward and the directions supplied by Real World Solutions very good. One adds on the adapter to the OMP and once installed, you attach it to a supply line for an oil tank reservoir and you are done. I use Idemitsu Premix Premix at Idemitsu Lubricants America Corporation in place of two-stroke oil.

This piece is awesome. The only thing to take into account is it does move the OMP out a little bit so you would need to remove the omp to get your exhaust manifold heat sheild off if you are still running the stock twins. Or be like me and just bend the heat sheild out of the way to get to the bolts.

Also, if you want to run this with the stock twins you would need to modify your primary oil return line to clear the OMP because of the new position.

Well worth every cent.

What is the difference between the 2 pieces for a 13b?

What exactly needs to be done to make one work with the stock twins?

+1, I'm interested as well but for a single application.

For the twins you the adapter plate for the OMP puts the OMP into a position where it gets in the way of the stock route of the Primary Turbo drain line. When I get a chance I'll take a picture of the modified drain for you.

Mostly wondering whether I would need to bend/move the stock piece, or have something fabricated to replace the stock piece

What we ended up doing was modifying the stock piece by using another stock drain line as a metal donor. I don't see why you couldn't make something new that would fit as well. I didn't have a chance to take a picture yesterday sorry about that. I should be able to get something tomorrow.

They stopped making these quite some time ago. They only have them for the electrical OMP's and the renesis. I just called them last week about this.
