FC Master Cylinder Brace

http://www.levelzeromotorsports.com/...es/10189_1.jpg

Description

During hard braking, the firewall will flex and deform. This results in decreased brake pedal feel and increased pedal movement making it more difficult to modulate brake pressure.

To improve the feel and allow for more accurate threshold braking we recommend our master cylinder brace. This bolt-on unit attaches to the suspension tower and the stopper presses against the master cylinder. This eliminates firewall deflection under hard braking and the peddle movement is more refined and accurate.

Notes from author

This was designed for my personal car. Because if this it is drastically over engineered and made with no regard to cast or time. The price might seem a little high but this part is literally made the best that I could with no expense spared. The brace is an inch thick, every edge has been beveled and all the hardware is stainless steel.

Sorry I had all of them anodized red. We just finished the current batch, so until we sell a bunch of them, I'm not sure when/if we will be making more.

25+ currently. A few are already spoken for, so I don't have an exact number. We are going to try to make more before we run out, but it's always hard to estimate demand/popularity with new parts.

This is of the prototype. There has been 1-2 cosmetic changes, but basically the same part. I'm waiting for the snow the stop so that I can install mine.

Yes you can paint them without a problem. The paint will actually last longer. You could also powdercoat them if you wanted. Anodizing is basically tinting the aluminum. This stops it from oxidizing so that it looks good after being exposed to the weather and makes it more scratch resistant.

RotaryEvolution 11-18-11 08:29 PM

technically anodizing is oxidized. :)

LOL I knew someone would call me on that. I was trying to not get overly technical, but you are absolutely correct.

If anyone is curious the wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anodizing) on anodizing explains the process quite well.

Yes the combination should make for a very firm pedal.
