V8 swap question
I have a 283 chevy motor sitting at my dads house. Should i swap this motor in or get a bigger motor. if i use that motor i would want to turbo it to get that extra power. im low on money so im trying to figure ou the best way i could get this rotary out of my car. :Kill1: but yeah if you guys could help me that be great. the 283 was just built so i really want to use it with a t-5 from a camaro or something.

A turbo won't be the budget solution, that's the first point to consider.
That 283 with good heads, cam, headers can still make some HP, though it won't be amazing. A Ford 5.0L might be a good way to go if you're budget minded. A few grand can get you a very fast setup, and ~1500 bucks can at least get you moving on a platform with a good amount of potential in it. |
Put the 283 in and get in running and everything all sorted out. Then when you get more money upgrade to a bigger better small block. Mounts and everything like that will be the same no matter what small block is used.
