Look, nobody here is going to be helpful... so I would advise going to www.v8rx7.com. They are all people like me who have done the swap or own v8 7's.
Most people here will just tell you that you are stupid for doing it. I say do it.... I have owned a TII for almost 3 years now, and I recently went the v8 route and I have no regrets.. The swap is usually cheaper than getting your 13b rebuilt, and it will have more power potential and be more reliable. But its all about what you want, not the people on the forum so dont let them get to you....good luck

I'd swap a million engine combo's into a 7 before i'd put a 350 in it, actually i think i'd prefer to have a 7 with no engine than have one with a 350 in it

My favorite swap would be a GN 4.1L, you can make absurd power with those reliably, and still keep the engine behind the front wheel centerline. Only downside is that no modern day manual trannies bolt to the Buick/Olds/Pontiac patterned engine :(

I suppose I am biased, considering I live in the middle of of of the larger centers for American Iron performance, home to the Mr. Gasket company, a couple major mailorder houses, the largest Ford dealer in the US, and one of the leading manufacturers of bolt-on twin turbo kits for 5.0 Mustangs. And yes, they do run hard and drive and sound just like stock...

Why would you want to? Aside from a T56 swap (possible, if you use a Chevy-to-BOP adapter) there really isn't anything strong enough to handle the torque, except an automatic.

Hey, I guess I'm just a strong believer in automatics behind turbomotors... with a properly sorted torque converter it will SCREAM! I wonder why few people seem to care about modifying automatics for imports... a turbo RX-7 with a decent racing automatic would be brutal on the dragstrip!

Yea, you could put a V8 on a grocery cart and it would be fast. Just don't try to turn a corner.

Are you implying that I have no Idea what I am doing with a turbo'd rotary? Is that why my TII runs great at 150K miles? Trust me I have takin all things into consideration, and the rotary just isnt going to suit my needs.

WHAT an insult. The whole reason for owning an RX-7 is because of the rotory engine. There is nothing else like it on the roads. Displacement/hp ratio, Weight, Sound. If you want a 350 in a small car go buy a monza, it was made by chevrolet and that 350 will fit right in. It about the same size as a FC. But don't come in here asking about how to do that swap cause you won't get any help!

slap a 350 in a fiero. Ive seen this done and its wicked as hell!

www.grannysspeedshop.com sells all of the conversion stuff, and like someone mentioned above, www.v8rx7.com is agreat site, and it even has a forum specifically for V8 RX7's.

The reason I'd own one is to Thank mazda for designing a chassis that was years ahead of it's time as far as lightweight and handling.

Guess what, a lot of rx7's often end up weigh'ing LESS w/ the V8 than the rotary if done with the right parts.

More bad news! You can have the car corner weighted and still have a 50/50 weight distrubution, all the myths and rumors have been done away with, by FACTS at the websites listed above.

I LOVE THESE POSTS!!! Every once in awhile some dude will post puttn a V8 in a Rex. And the light turns green to one of the most fueded topics of Rx7 enthusiasts.

Personally I think it's stupid. The #1 reason Mazda put a rotary in the RX7 was for low engine weight, thus, great handling. It sure wasn't for their huge power, or low emissions....think about it....

And as for a V8 conversion with the weight distribution of a rotary....hahahahahahahahhaahhahahahahahaha
You better have plenty of money.....sorry I don't believe the "FACTS".

Bottom line. If you don't like rotarys don't buy rotary cars. I don't like muscle cars, and guess what, ...I wouldn't be caught dead in one.
