still have to adjust valvetrain and check piston to valve clearance, but she's coming together.

Looks cool! But why is intake manifold painted black? Is it not aluminum?!

What's it going in?

TreeFittySeven Dec 18, 2015 10:05 AM

1980 SA is what it's in. almost ready to start it up....damn it's taken a long time

the intake is aluminum, just painted black

Yolo7 Dec 19, 2015 07:23 PM

Nice!

Yolo7 Jan 9, 2016 04:22 PM

Awesome. So rewarding to hear it run.

Any chance you have some pictures that show the radiator mounting? I have the granny's kit and wish he included some pictures in his instructions.

TreeFittySeven Jan 9, 2016 05:13 PM

Want make this out of vinyl and put it on my RX7

billyjones454 Feb 26, 2016 02:22 PM

Awesome! Doing all the homework to get my swap planned! What transmission are you running? Whats the horse power?

TreeFittySeven Feb 28, 2016 05:02 AM

T5 5 speed from 90 camaro. It's the only one with overdrive. very hard to find. probably would go with T56 if I did it a second time. Should get 375-425 hp. It's 10.5:1 compression.

Freeskier7791 Mar 2, 2016 01:08 PM

I laid down a few 50-100 feet drag marks barely getting on it. yeah, posi works and limited slip kicked in when she squiggled a little. couldn't be happier!

TreeFittySeven Apr 2, 2016 05:44 AM

oh and the tingling in the video is just the speedo cable dragging

Freeskier7791 Apr 4, 2016 03:16 PM

Nice work, I hope I can do a proper test of my car next weekend, need to do the exhaust this week

Also how are you holding your door cards in? reusing the plastic snaps?

TreeFittySeven Apr 5, 2016 10:30 AM

I made the door panels, just copied the old ones.

I am using the metal clips that came with mine.... I think some have plastic, but mine are metal. The rubber grommets that go into the holes on the metal part of the door are useless now, and probably pretty hard to find. I'll probably just put some electrical tape around the metal clip so there's no creaking or anything. hopefully you can picture what i'm saying.

TreeFittySeven Apr 5, 2016 10:33 AM

also just ordered the seat covers from racing beat and matching material for the doors. will also cover the kick plates i made which go down by your feet. getting there.....

That makes sense, I am going to make some for my car but was thinking I may have to do rivets or something, doesnt seem like the 4 attachment points would be enough

TreeFittySeven Apr 6, 2016 10:46 AM

oh, forgot. that's exaclt what I am using ti attach the top metal piece to the composite/wood (whatever it is) door piece..... rivets! I lined em all up, drilled the holes and just soaked the top metal piece in vinegar water and cleaned and painted it. it's not in the picture, but yeah, I am using rivets.

misterstyx69 Apr 10, 2016 12:43 AM

that intake would have saved me 500 in hood shit..lol!

Freeskier7791 Apr 11, 2016 10:01 AM

Do you have pictures of your exhaust routing?
