sbf swap

hey guys i have a 1990 Gx and i was wondering i have a spare 302 lying around that i wanna use when my 13b goes, im just conserned im guessing the a carb'd setup will not clear a stock T2 hood? im prolly going EFI any ways but will the ford efi manifolds clear a T2 hood, i just wanna make a sleeper with out going cowl :)

If you use a Weiand 8011 intake and a low profile air cleaner a carb setup should work

OR if you use an Edelbrock 7123 5.0L manifold if you want injection

Both are among the slightest of stature.

ive got a 302 in a non turbo rx7 2nd gen and the distributor doesnt clear the hood, the carb isnt even on yet. just a heads up.

oh geese,

this isnt looking good, i love Rx7's to death but i am really against a cowl induction hood on it :(

Is there any way to lower the engine more in between the frame with shorter frame mounts? but there might be a problem with oil pan clearence as well, anyone else have any more info?

screw that old remake of the fe ford engine and stick with the real ford engine.. that's where it's at!

spacer sub frame

I have a 5.0 in an FC. You will have to use a low profile intake as said before. Carbed - Edelbrock Performer or similiar, EFI - the one listed might work, I know a stock 94-95 Mustang or 89-91 Thunderbird intake will clear. To get the distributor to clear spacer the sub-frame down a 1/2". I cut 4- 1/2" thick pieces of flat bar and drilled holes in them. Dropped the sub-frame down, placed spacer over spuds( I think that's what they are called) and raised the sub-frame. Spuds(?) are long enough for 1/2" spacer but, not much more. Everything will clear under stock hood. Some trimming will still be neccessary on bottom of hood.
