LS1/T56 - what shifters are you guys using for that perfect spot
93 rx7, samberg kit, 02 ls1, t56
i'm currently using a single bend shifter which fits fine through the tunnel, but comes no where close to the oem shift boot hole what shifters are you guys using to have it line up as close as possible to the oem shift boot hole? this car is full interior |
i used a b&m short shifter. but i had to heat up the shifter stick and bend it back and then up. works great and shifts super smooth & short

I have a steeda forged shifter, and love the location.

any pics guys?

The steeda Tri-ax is one tried and true method. A lot of guys also like the MGW shifter. This unit has an offset block that can be rotated to the "6 o'clock" position putting the shifter handle where it belongs.

For the closest to stock, rock the steeda tri-ax shifter.
I haven't had personal use with the pro 5.0, but I suspect that it will give you the most stock looking position when combined with the tri-ax. (my experience) The next would probably be the stock with a tri-ax. This will lean towards you. The factory hurst seems to lean ever further towards you with the tri-ax. The MGW is straight, but it sits about 1/2" forward. |
Im using wilkinshaw shifter......
|
im using a tri ax also
|
any luck with pro 5.0 shifters?
|
are samberg kits the way to go or hinsonsupercars
|
My factory shifter with tri-ax handle sits a little to far back with the shift bezel installed, it ends up pushing on the plastic in second/fourth. Im using a samberg mount kit.
|
Samberg > Hinson by far. The sponsor of this section sells Samberg kits in their store. :)
I use MGW shifters and am very happy with them. |
Do any of these shifters require enlarge / cut the hole? Thanks!
|
I'm using a pro 5.0 I like it a lot and came right thru not cutting in my FC
