Ignition switch question.

Which of these wires can I tap to run to the S terminal on the sbc starter. I believe it is the black and white thick one but want to be sure and I need to know which of these would be a good keyed power source for my ignition box.

I'm trying to remember exactly but it's been a while.

You should be able to check with a DMM what each wire is doing as you turn the key to different positions. (your battery will have to be connected to test this way).

this is what i found through our friend google.

Battery BLACK
Ignition 1 BLACK/WHITE
Ignition 2 BLACK/RED
Accessory 1 BLUE
Starter 1 BLACK/GREEN

I'm assuming you are trying to wire up the starter motor to your key switch correct?

Yes also need a spot to tap for keyed power for ignition box and a couple other items, and man what google terms did you use cause I was up till 5 am and was so ready to shove my computer through the garbage disposal.

Get the FC FSM. It's in one of the electrical sections and tells you exactly which does what. Also, if you look very, very closely at the switch itself it has markings for each wire on it.

No problem. I searched something like rx7 ignition switch colors or something like that.

Use the ignition 1 or 2 for your switched power. I would check it with a meter before you pick one. I believe one is one click of the key and the other is two clicks of the key.

As far as the starter motor I would suggest that you tap into the circuit after the relay. The relay will prevent any surges or shorts from effecting other components and that line should already be fused.

I believe you might just be able to use the same solenoid wire from the original circuit depending on how your electrical is now but I don't know for sure.
