How's your advise? NA just rebuilt? swap T2? V8? or others?

I am a S4 NA ownwer.
I think many FC owner will have same problem with me..........
I heard people can swap for a V8 <-- is it street illegal?
is it the prices will be more cheaper than T2 parts?
If do the swap for V8, does it can run like 0-60 for 5 or more sec?
cause i like my FC chassis. i keep it pretty good.
if i sell my FC is no value, if buy a T2, i hope can use my FC chassis
also i wanna know how the prices would.
thanks so much.

Check your emission laws for the state on swapping engines. Those laws might be the biggest deciding factor on what you do to your car. If your a HP/torque junkie then the V8 swap might be for you. Check out www.torquecentral.com. They have an RX7 section. Generally, ported rotary engines won't pass sniffer test and if you strip the engine of emissions related pieces it won't pass a visual test. Pricing is very subjective on what you do and how you do it. If you have to pay for fabrication work it gets expensive real fast. If you have some fab skills there is much money you can save.

I don't think I answered any of your questions. Your welcome:)

go turbo!

Your rotary engine is special. If you make it run right then you will have lots of power! Save the V8 engine for some other car. RX7 = Rotary!

toast, dont make me hit you. I could be your neighbor for all you know! ;)

Ringo, you could get a LT1/4auto or like 2K, and a LT1/T-56 for probably 2.5 (maybe 2.8K MAX) which is UNDER rated at 270 hp. Oh, and LT1s were made well after the 2nd gen RX7 was out of production, so... its a newer engine, and is going to be cleaner and better on gas.

Bam. 230ish whp, gobs of torque, great gas mileage, HANDLING UN EFFECTED, and costs about the same as a rebuild.
