Differential Flange hitting Samberg Diff Brace.. what's going on?
 

I installed my samberg diff brace in my 1993 then began to push the car into a new position when the rear end started clunking. I jacked it up and noticed the counterweight or whatever that is behind the differential flange is hitting my brace. What could i have possible done wrong?

Maybe a dumb question, but is it installed upside down? I dont have one to know if that is even possible, but in that last photo it looks there there is a notch cut out on the opposite side of the support just about in that area.

The cutout section is to give your exhaust more clearance. It's definitely installed the correct way.

My first question is this, was the driveshaft installed when you began pushing the car? If not, then of course your diff will hang across the diff brace. You are to install your driveshaft also before moving the vehicle. Your diff isn't supported by anything in the front, only the driveshaft. Install your driveshaft then measure the clearance.

Hmmm. There was no driveshaft installed at the time. That sorta makes sense that the driveshaft will want to nose dive a little. But i'm not sure how a driveshaft installed will keep the diff from moving. The brace is supposed to keep the diff from moving. I should be getting my driveshaft soon.
