conversion kit

on the granny speed shop conversion kit i dont see anything about the motor mounts..do you use the ones that are on the ls1 ?

Grannies uses the three bolt sbc mount from the 1960s chevy trucks. You'll need adapter plates to run an ls series motor.

if you havent bought the kit yet i would suggest the ronin kit for ease of installation and removal of engine, you will be taking it out a few times for trial fitting diff. parts, also lighter weight and the price point.....win,win,win!!!

Isn't theirs for an fc? I didn't see anything on the fd

southsidecox Nov 5, 2012 05:50 PM

ya fc,there i go assuming again

samberg is a good one for fds

dream36realms Nov 6, 2012 08:46 AM

samberg, custom, hinson for FD
Ronin, grannies, custom, hinson for FC
grannies, custom, or FC subframe swapfor FB or SA

those are your options for V8 swaps. Obviously Ronin makes the best mounts for the FC and obviously Justin samberg makes the best for the FD. Unfortunately the only option for FB/SA is grannies unless you convert to FC subframe with ronin mounts. I did a custom unit on a SA. There is also PEZ in atlanta who has made custom mounts for FD's as well but he is a hard man to book ;)

Samberg for FD, Ronin for FC, case closed.

I already have the granny speed subframe.. So all I need is the adapter plates to make the ls1 mounts work? Where do I get these plates?

southsidecox Nov 11, 2012 11:02 AM

have u not looked on their website, should have them avail. seperately, its grannys speedshop and grannys.tripod.com i think

jonnyb07 Nov 11, 2012 03:00 PM

Yeah but if I can use my mounts and just buy the adapter plates I could save money. That's what I'm trying to figure out. It doesn't say anywhere if mine will work with their adapter plate. I know I can buy new mounts
