committed to swap now

Well, I started further tearing down my engine bay for the swap. All that's left in it is the short block and tranny... It looks like by selling my stuff I've got I'll make at least enough money to cover all mounts, cooling, and extra stuff. Now I've just got to front the money for the LS1 pullout...

here's a link to the mass exodus https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=500874

So, I'm projecting a total project cost of well under $20K including car, considering I paid $13K for the car originally. And to think, I could have bought a civic Si for the same amount :squint: haha..

just wondering, how come you don't use the koyo radiator for the LS1? you're selling everything pretty cheap man, good luck on your build!

when I was looking at the KOYO, it seems like it is a poor design for aiming it upright. There is that hump on the top on one side, the upper hose mount is funky, and there is no filler cap. All that can be remedied, but I thought I'd just buy a new fat radiator for less than I'm selling the koyo for.

Am I way off here?

cool, it does look like you will make out okay on the swap costing you not much more than the cost of an LS1 dropout.

shop your ass off for a good deal on an LS1 swap, there are some great deals out there!

that's cool, i'll be using the stock radiator since im kind of broke right now and i still need to buy my FPR. i'll use the stock one for a bit though, not that long.

anyway, congrats on joining the dark side, as bee said. :icon_tup:

I think I may end up using the FD koyo after all, since the stock fans fit and bolt on so nicely. I'll probably fab some mounts for it to fit vertically, and either have a cap added to the top of it, or inline on the rad. hose.
