Automatic shifter

1 Attachment(s)
I swapped my seven and it now has a 350 sbc with a 700r4. As you know the automatic seven shifter only has 1 2 d n r p. this shifter poses the problem of not using 1st on the 700. After looking at performance shifter I haven't seen any I think would look fitting in the seven. What did you guys use? I'm thinking about getting an 80s Camaro shifter and making it work.

Here's two of my recent setups:

B&M Pro Ratchet (on a 2004r):

I bought it from a guy on another forum. Shoot me a PM and I can give you his info if you are interested. It's aluminum.

I'll have the same issue. Going 327 with a 200r4 auto

FWIW, you can make a stock 4 speed auto RX7 shifter work with a 700r4/2004r with some effort.

You just modify the shifter to eliminate the notches, build a linkage to the transmission and then rely on the transmission detents to select the gears. It's not perfect, but it's viable. I would not use it on a manually shifted automatic, since it's imprecise, but you really shouldn't be using any stock shifter on a manually shifted automatic anyway.
