Alternative alternators for Ford 302.(brain storm conundrum!)

hmmm...gets ya thinkin.
OK..the 1st gen Ford alt put out crap.Downfall is it needs an external regulator and well, won't keep up to any after market electronics.
The 3rd Gen Ford Alt (we all know 2nd gen FC SWAP..right?.) is 130 amps and easily swappable on the 302 with little modification if any.Wiring is simple,it is more or less a bracket trim to get it to sit in nicely.
SO..this gets me thinkin..(uh-oh..!)
IF you can swap a S5 or FD alt onto a FC engine and also Swap a FORD 130 amp alt onto an FC,then...stay with me...Can you swap an FD alt onto a Ford 302 Bracket?.

I'll leave this open.
I went from 1st gen (external regulator) to 3rd gen Ford Alt.
The bracket needs trimming to clear one of the alternator case bolts and a slight trim where the connector would sit (bracket rubs wires,so trim bracket the connector doesn't rub the bracket).
*be careful with the compression fitting on the lower alt bolt bracket.IF it is ceased in there it will snap the ear of the bracket.Well, that is if you tighten it up,too much!
The alt can be "filed slightly" to make sure that your alt will slide in the bracket. The fitment will be nice and snug!
