Looks fun! My alum 5.3 was pretty ballsy compared to the dished piston 5.3 I ran prior. What cam did you go with?

I went with a Trickflow Trackmax Stage 3(228/230 duration) and Brian Tooley dual springs. Should be a nice mild cam for running around town and hitting the occasional Autox course. |

Cam installation has started. Decided to make some lifter retainer tools, seemed like a decent $3 investment for the level of security it added. Ran out of daylight so will finish up in the next couple days.

Slapped on some new tires and Mustang rims in prep for some track days.

Not much of an update. But I have started gathering parts for the winter tear down. Swapping over to an L33 rotating assembly for increased compression and the stronger gen4 rods. Going to stick with the stock LM4 heads with smaller chambers and do some porting on them. Also the stock clutch I have been using is about to its end, so probably be looking at swapping that as well.
So to summarize this winter will be more compression, better flow, new bearings, new clutch, also going to reloom, cleanup and hide wiring. May get more involved then that, but who knows. Attachment 623450 |

Im currently sourcing a LS and t56 to do this swap to a 91 NA. Any advice?
I have a mechanical background, but its going to be a budget build as i am also rebuilding my turbo 2's rotary engine. |
