86-92 Fc: Lt1 Swap Question's

I Want To Swap A Buick Roadmaster Lt1 (1996 Obd2) Into My 1991 Rx7. I Have Pulled The Motor And I Am Now Doing Research On The Wiring Harness For The Roadmaster (b-body) Wiring Harness. I Am Learning That The Wiring Harness From A B-body Is Different From A F-body Or Y-body. Has Anybody With A Lt1 Fc Here Swapped A B-body Lt1 Into Their Fc (caprice, Impala, Roadmaster)? Why Are The Years 94-95 Obd1 And 96 Is Obd2 But It Is Still The Same Ecu But 2 Totally Different On Board Diagnostic System, Why Is That, And How So? All Help And Knowledge Apperciated Please And Thanks.

I have an LT1 but as far as the harness differences I have no idea. My engine/harness/ecu came out of a 93 F-body. You may be able to find more information over on www.v8rx7forum.com if you aren't over there already.

As far as a general LT1 swap guide, www.grannysspeedshop.com has a pretty good guide, and this one here is awesome: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/641869 (this guide is from mattster03 on v8rx7forum).

I can help with general LT1 questions but as far B-body specific stuff I probably can't help.

You are right that the LT1 went from OBD1 to OBD2 in 96, and I believe 95 was kind of a bastard year, with the car being a hybrid of OBD1 and OBD2 stuff, but the actually car itself was still classified as an OBD1.

Get an F-Body Harness, it will be easier to find documentation online for your swap.

A fellow Roadmaster victim..

An old thread, but if you are like many of us you are still doing the swap. ;)

I just finished (HA! It's never really finished) my 94 Roadmaster swap.. the only wiring issues I had were the Tach signal is missing (found at pin A13 on the PCM, just steal a pin from something else. I used the power steering sensor).. otherwise it all seemed to match up fine. I went T56, so all the auto tranny crap was cut out as well. I think that's it.. the wiring, while daunting, really wasn't that hard once I dug into it. Get a wiring diagram for each car side by side so you can match stuff up.
