3rd GEN RX7/LT-1 Conversion ?
 

Does anybody know if Hinson Supercars has all the conversion equipment for an LT-1 in a 3rd Gen. And if not how long till they plan on makeing and selling the pieces. Also anywhere else that is priced as well and as reputable as Hionson sell the equipment for it

i checked there website and all it says is coming soon. But it has said that for 4 months now

How old are you? Guess some people have to knock others to build themselves up. If you think he's a rook for asking that give him a freakin' break. You aren't helping anyone but yourself. However, there's nothing wrong with some good natured ribbing.

As far as the swap goes, I bet it would be just as easy as the ls1/6 swap. A little cheaper, though, maybe. Are LT1's all alluminum? Don't know or care, but if not, they would throw off the balance of an rx-7.

Hey newb, I guess the mind-boggling logic of a person wanting to know specific information getting off their asses and calling the person who actually has that information was lost on you, huh? :rolleyes:

This guy has been checking a web site for four months and never once called Hinson to ask him personally. It's amazing how many people are either incapable or just afraid of picking up a phone and talking to another live human being. Worse, the answer has been on this forum the entire time and he was too goddamn lazy to look for it. He deserved exactly what he got.

Now go play in the lounge, or in traffic, or wherever it is that empty-headed newbies like yourself spend their spare time.

And after that, search every thread regarding the V8 swap and kick yourself in the ass for making statements such as "it would throw off the balance of the RX7" since you obviously don't know anything about it. And whatever you do, please don't ever do a V8 conversion - I don't want you on my side in a debate. Cheers :)

It goes hand in hand with being told I ripped the soul out of my car, it can't possibly handle the same, I "just don't know how to tune a rotary" and it's not an RX7 anymore.

Thanks for the two cents jimlab. I don't have anything against you personally, but you still haven't said anything that makes me buy your bullshit reason for being smart.

Contrary to your ignorant idea's about where I spend my free-time, I do like to read the in-depth discussions and ideas in the forums. It's the few flaming comments like yours and others post that bring down my(and others) interest in reading anything you have to say. I see that you are a big-time poster in here, but that doesn't give you a right to poke your damn finger in my chest or anyone else's for that matter. You may continue to do it as much as you like and make whatever excuse you wish, but it will remain bullshit. Why? Cause you haven't got a clue about who I am, nor do you care. You say things about me you can't possibly know in your best attempts at machoism. You haven't said anything in any of your last posts that makes me believe otherwise. The only reason I said that was after reading the hinson website. The motor they used was an LS1, all-aluminum block, right? It weighed slightly less than a stock FD, which is fantastic in my book. They did a great job.

I guess I am a little confused. So, if you put something twice as heavy in, it won't change the handling? I don't really know and I haven't got a clue about other conversions I'd like to look into it sometime. I said I don't really care about a conversion, but other than the LS1/6 swap, I don't know it enough to care. I'm on my own side for now until you can change my mind.

I agree, I would think that someone with that much knowledge would put it to some good use....forum bashing is just....a waste of time. :|

Let's cover the chain of events, shall we, and see if you can comprehend...

1. dfmRX7 posts here asking if BRIAN HINSON has all the conversion equipment for an LT1 in an FD.
2. Rynberg asks if dfmRX7 thought about contacting BRIAN HINSON to find out.
3. dfmRX7 basically states that he took the path of least resistance and has been watching Hinson's web site hoping the information he wants will just show up. In short, NO.
4. I post the phone number for BRIAN HINSON, the person who would KNOW THE ANSWER.
5. Instead of calling BRIAN HINSON to find out, dfmRX7 posts a smart-ass comment about knowing the number.
6. I point out AGAIN that BRIAN HINSON is the person who knows the answer to his question.
7. You show up THREE MONTHS LATER and stick your nose in where it doesn't belong by posting some bullshit about giving him a break when HE HAD THE SOLUTION TO HIS OWN PROBLEM, BUT REFUSED TO USE IT.

Does that about sum it up? Why should anyone go out of their way to help someone who won't help themselves? YOU are in the wrong here. While we may have been less than touchy-feely about answering his question, we gave him all the prompting he needed to get off his lazy ass and get an answer for himself, yet he refused. At that point, all bets are off. Life's hard; expect a few bruises and keep your fucking whining to yourself.

Haha. Well, I'll take that as a compliment then Jimlab. I'm just tired of reading about people roasting people. Ever think that how you responded may have pissed him off to the point were he didn't want your help. Sure you may have been trying, in some way, to help, but really you only helped yourself by flaming him. No matter now, the guy hasn't said a word again. I guess you came up with the answer. I'm failing to see the purpose of this thread, I don't see what is so difficult about using the telephone, and I don't see why some of you don't have something better to do with your time than argue about such petty things.
