Stock 90 GXL S5 Dyno

Well, the only thing I had was an intake and it was 100 degrees outside so I doubt it was doing my any good, it was on a mobile dyno.

It's still running really rich, even with the SAFC leaning it out according to the dyno guys, they want me to come back and get it tuned with them next week.

Are these decent numbers for an RX7 with 83k miles on the engine? I figured a little more but like I said it was 100 degrees outside.

AFAIK, the spark plugs and wires were replaced (doesnt look like it to me) and the oil was changed, the oil looked like crap so I changed the oil and filter...spark plugs looked fouled out but they are NGK's, I've also got rusted out exhaust so I have a feeling that could be causing it?

Also most of the bushings are shot in my car, could I be loosing power through that? I want to get my car back up to stock spec short of rebuilding it before putting the turbo on...

Run 1, 3 = 3rd Gear Pull
Run 2 = 4th Gear Pull (maxed out at 150mph he said before vibrations got bad)

This was with the SAFCII at -10% through the whole range and some ebay intake filter on there.

I think I saw it running away when the big 900hp Cobra pulled up to Dyno :bigthumb:

Dom_C 10-15-05 06:07 PM

yea dude that's wicked low. . I'm thinking maybe you've got a clogged cat or something? that would also creat alot of back pressure which would cause your torque to be higher than your horsepower

BlueS5 10-15-05 06:10 PM

Weird.....I've always known rotaries to put down more horespower than torque.

Tech_Greek 10-15-05 06:13 PM

That or my 5th/6th ports are STUCK closed...

Andrew. 10-15-05 06:14 PM

6 port sleeves working right? Still have acv and air pump? Its odd when i did my base tune for my fc i also hit 150mph in 4th gear, 155 to be exact, i was stoked lol.

Tech_Greek 10-15-05 06:15 PM

No 6 port sleeves are not working right, they are fucking frozen and I'm pissed off..

There's your answer, you had 4 of 6 ports working thats why you didn't get full hp. what afrs were you doing?

SonicRaT 10-15-05 06:25 PM

Yeah, I had him check the second I saw the torque drop off, and sho nuff, they be stuck!

Tech_Greek 10-15-05 06:28 PM

Dyno couldn't interface with his wideband...

86gxlsp 10-23-05 09:28 PM

its interesting......i'd like to see a dyno with them working just to compare the differences

arghx 10-24-05 06:39 PM

I dynoed my streetported s4 N/A when my ports were stuck closed and I was like wtf... so I wired them open real quick with some zip ties and I got an extra 20whp.

SonicRaT 10-24-05 07:04 PM

Well, his are now removed. They were so stuck it was unbelievable, they had so much carbon buildup it took me almost 30 minutes to get them out of the damn engine, then the actuator rods were frozen shut, and absolutely refused to come off, so we just removed them completely.

jacobcartmill 10-24-05 07:22 PM

well hey atleast the VDI was working...

now take that puppy back with no aux ports!

Tech_Greek 10-25-05 12:24 AM

Plan on it, just waiting on the dyno to be laid out again.
