fresh build streetport projections

hey

In less than one month I should have my S5 TII engine out of the shop, rebuilt and street-ported. the only other mods being maybe 720 secondaries and and 255 Walbro. When its out I will have it dyno'd, and re-post them in this thread. just curious to see who can come with the closest numbers. and then maybe suggestions as to what I should do to just have it running healthy for now or will that be enough. It's my first RX-7, and I don't know the set-ups yet. I plan to make it a killer but for now I just want reliability.

Thanks Andrew.

277 RWHP. i'm kind of assuming you will have more supporting mods than just the injectors and FP.

^^^ that seems a bit optimistic on the stock turbo. 220 whp seems a bit more reasonable considering there's no boost control (other than boost creep), no menion of an EMS, and it's the stock turbo.

no everything else so far is stock i haven't had the money to really get anything else to build on it. when I do I will def be getting a boost controller, and EMS as soon as possible. but even without those i would like to see the differences that the parts i put on make as I progress with a base being the streetport injectors and pump. I do also plan on the exhaust and intake real soon.

You're just gonna put in bigger fuel injectors with no means of managing your fuel? can you even do that? I think the engine management and a wideband should be the first thing to go on any built engine.

220-250rwhp is the normal range, depending on the dyno, ambient conditions, how much boost you are running, etc

720 injectors with no control??hmm proably run fine till 4k AND THEN FALL ON ITS FACE. And a waste of money on the dyno. At least till the injectors are tuned in.

gxl90rx7 04-20-08 07:57 AM

200whp

those 720's will run too rich with the stock setup. upgrade to 3" exhaust, and they will put you back in the right AFR range. I assume you have stock exhaust

So nu-rx7junkie how does your emanage work for you? which options did you do there seems to be a lot to go for? and do u have any suggestions for what I could start with? It seems like emange could be really cheap or really expensive with all the options.

I haven't paid for anything but the engine yet and it seems like I have to go a different route than what I thought.. thanks for the feedback

Emanage is cool. I found the unit used in the for sale forum for 100$ then all the harnesses and support tool another 150.So 250$ Need your own laptop for tuning. And you can substitute a wideband in the boost sensor port. If all you wanna do is tune in the 720's just get the main harness. I got everything cause i just wanted to wire everything in all at once. I hate having my car down, Especially since i just got it on the road.

Let me just proove you wrong real quick. heh

I have 720 secondaries, fpr and no ems at all. BNR stg. 4 @ 9 psi and i run 10 flat afr's all the way to 7,500 rpms. Car has never acted up through the rpms. I used to do it on my stock turbo.

Same motor for 3 years. 2 years on my stock turbo and a year on the bnr. same tuning setup the whole time. But i have never ran more than 9-10 psi.(creeps to 10 in cold florida nights)

I treat my motor good. i only go on high boost which is 9 psi when i drag(which is rare). But when i DD and drift i use stock 6-7 psi
