first 1/4 run

well went to jackson, SC to run the car for my first time, wow great feeling gettin out there, i'd never even been to a drag strip prior to tonight. anyway, ran twice(all they could get in that night)

first run 15.1 my 60 ft was 2.6 and i launched the car like a pansy and it just grabbed with street tires and started at 1500 rpms and sucked lol.

second run:

rxn .222
60 2.0
1/4 14.2

if i get the reaction and launch down better i think i can close to a 13.5 i just only got two tries. the first time i raced a slightly modded evo. he ran a 13.7 lol that was funny cuz he really didnt pull but off the line he got me. and i raced a tiburon *spelling the second time, he was also in for his second run of the night, and i smoked the hell ouda him.

rt has zero effect on et

jkimbro 05-25-07 08:44 AM

What MPH were you hitting?

...and yeah, reaction and ET are independent of each other. But a 2.0 isn't half bad on your launch....especially if running street tires.

pyscho7 05-25-07 05:33 PM

97mph

i still should have a quicker reaction time

the first 60ft i ran a 2.6 but again, first time ever at the track. 2nd time shows improvement already

so question bout leaving for the light. i never have researched if its true or not, but i see a huge difference in my launches if i hit the gas a couple times instead of just holding an rpm for a launch, i seem to have a lot better power, i was thinking it did this because it was spooling the turbo.

R/T doesnt have anything to do with final time @ track like stated before. If you get the 60' down, 1/10 off 60' is roughly 2/10 off final time.

I was wondering the same thing about the launches

jkimbro 06-14-07 10:04 AM

Not really sure what it matters if you bounce the throttle or hold the RPMs...I just held my RPMs, and then feather the throttle to 1.9x 60' times. It basically just takes practice...and driving your car a lot to know how it's going to act.

learn how to properly ride the clutch!!!!!

This will help you ,either to, keep it from bogging down and over spinning.
