Before and after, aftermarket ignition Dyno. Jacobs FC1000

Went to the dyno just to compare and see if there would be any changes between running without and with an aftermarket ignition box.

The ignition box is a Jacobs Electronics FC1000. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Here is a install writeup: http://www.rotaryheads.com/modifications/FC1000/

I only did 4 pulls. Two pulls with just the Leading coil wired up like stock (files 1+2) and then 2 pulls with the Jacobs box connected (files 3+4).

From a quick look at the chart. I think it looks like it might be a gain of around 7 horse, but maybe a loss in torque. I'm not sure if there is loss or not.

Another thing I noticed was that there dyno read I was running 16-17psi, but my logs never got higher than a 15.2. It was mostly in the 14psi range and my Greddy boost controller showed a highest peak of 15.8psi. Why could that be? My pressure source for the stock s4 boost sensor and the Greddy head unit comes from the stock location and they tapped into my FPR source. I don't see the two sources being that different. I might move my source for the boost sensor.

Thanks R/T Tuning for the time!

nice,
makes me now want to go out and buy one. even though it looks like you lose a little bit of torque..

The gain in HP can be the fact that your getting a more complete burn of the fuel at higher RPMs. I don't see an obvious gain or loss in torque except for the one run which could be due to air intake temp or something else. I recently installed a FC1000 as well and noticed I was leaner at idle and cruise as well as an increase in throttle response. Its a good mod for the price.

are you still running the rtek? The stock sensor will only read up to 15 psi

Silverfc88 11-11-08 07:13 PM

I'm still running the Rtek. Yeah for some reason I was thinking the stock sensor could read to 16psi, but it maxes at 14.7 or something like that.

The Dyno Chart Show Your A/f Is Too Lean (16.32-17.1) You Need More Fuel In Your Fuel Map. You Need A Richer A/f Ratio. Don't Do Anything Else, Just Add Fuel And You Will gain A Lot Of Horsepower. Garranty

Would this be worth it on a stock na?

that what i want to hear. the hp, mpg and more torque? i wonder if you run it on a stock n/a will you have to worry about running lean?

If anyone has it chime in and let us know So i can order one if its good =P

lol, he has the boost pressure overlaid on the AFR graph, labeled on the opposite side. His engine would have asploded before he got halfway through his pull if his AFRs were in that range...

When I was back bone stock, one of the first things I added was a Jacobs Rotary Pro Pak. It helped quite a bit with mileage, about 2-3 mpg over my 60 mile round trip interstate commute at about 60, which was great as I was a poor college student at the time, it also seemed to helped on the butt dyno, but no real evidence to prove either way.
