356hp@12psi on Td-06 20g bolt on kit
Back on to the dyno, well I'm kinda happy for the outcome of my dyno w/ steve kan on 4/05. But I was hoping for more considering the changes I've made since last years dyno (https://www.rx7club.com/time-slips-dyno-128/dynod-s-afc-stock-ecu-eng-340rwhp-306lb-ft-655194/) w/ the same turbo. Steve says the turbo is out of steam(look at the map) and I need a bigger turbo:). Also I need bigger injectors again:(. Torque has tapered off to 267ft/lbs compared to last years stock port @ 306. This is all done on a dynapack NOT a dynojet these are usually known to read lower than said dynojets.Okay stuff that counts:
-13bt Streetport by:Banzai Racing(thanks!) -Used greddy Td-06 20g turbo kit -Apexi Power FC -720cc primarys 1000cc secondays -Greddy fmic http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/a...ay_4_05_08.jpg Btw I already been beating on this setup on the street and its a terror. Got a few kills haha:loud ls1 camaro, stage something srt-4, d.b. on a harley, mazdaspeed 6. This turbo and engine is perfect on the street spools up fast or would also make a good autocross/drift car. Just need some new wheels and tires now.http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/a...scamera061.jpg |
find a 25g that will fit the manifold. I think it does... but not sure about the downpipe.
u made nice power at 12psi |
very nice. even the old dyno runs form last year are very impressive. any video?
|
Cool, any under-hood pics?
|
what did he recommend you upgrade your injectors to? Just need to upgrade primary or secondary (or both?)
|
Dude at this point you need to go for the 1600cc secondary's.
Car looks good. Greddy Power Extreme exhaust? |
As for the turbo a 25g would be better. But for a T3 footprint turbo this little 20g did pretty good. I rate it on par with a big hybrid nothing special except the w.g. and mani.I actually paid about the same too! But an streetport is a little much for it. I think that I'm gonna keep this turbo for a little while, with such little boost I can bang on it all day and not worry about temps and driveability.
If anything I would still like to replace the exhaust extension that comes with the kit to 3in it's at 2.25inches now and I think it's restricting the top end a little. Also would love to do aux. injection for those hot humid summer days. I will be upgrading to 1600cc secondarys if I do a bigger turbo say T60, Ts04, 25g etc.. Yes the exhaust is a greddy power extreme, it's a treat to the ears. Well until the w.g. comes open:). I did not get any video, I took my p.o.s. jvc digi cam with me and it decided to record sound not video:((dont buy jvc cameras). So no video for now, I would like to get some incar vid sometime as it sounds awesome without the afm. |
For a TD06-20G, that's a LOT of power at 12psi!
Are you sure it was 12psi? Those numbers are usually for 15psi+. On a DynoJet, those numbers are closer to 400! The turbo is not known to be very efficient under 15psi of boost, so it's weird it put up numbers like that at so low a boost range. I'm also surprised the comments about the turbo running out of steam? They are usually most efficient in the 15psi to 20psi range... -Ted |

Not many people do thats why I ask. I don't really have a real world basis to compare to. |
Nice numbers. I see that streetport engine and Power FC adapter are treating you right.
|
curve looks like a riot to drive on the street.
:bigthumb: |
Do you know what timing advance you were running and what split?

IME, that turbo makes just about 400 @ 15psi - 18psi on a Dynojet.
Looking back at your graph, I just noticed that light blue line is *boost pressure* - not torque. :P You are hitting above 14psi at certain points. Do you have a boost controller? Do you have the torque trace? Yeah, that 2.5" adapter is a restriction. -Ted |
Did you ever remove the turbine housing and inspect for damage? A chipped wheel would explain the erratic MAP trace, and the pressure loss at higher RPMs.
Here is a pic of a GT35r that looked perfect from the exhaust outlet and made an erratic 20psi : http://www.banzai-racing.com/how_to/damaged_turbo1.jpg |
nice looking setup and nice numbers.

nice
Nice curve

clean car and numbers!

Bad ass my man. :bigthumb:

that dyno is a flywheel hp dyno or wheel?

hey you know those 20g greddy kits... they are t4 flange with a t4-t3 adapter....
SO it shouldnt be to hard to throw a t4 flanged turbo beast ont here=D |
If you see the flywheel hp and hp the same, the numbers are rear wheel hp. If there is a % correction to convert to flywheel hp, those values will be different. This also goes true for torque. The flywheel torque = torque/(gear ratio) so in this case, it is 4.1 rear end. If there is a % difference, the flywheel torque will be higher also.
