Made 460rwhp/353rwtq on a dynojet today @ 20psi. Car didn't seem to hold 20psi to redline though, bled off to about 17-18.

neit_jnf 03-25-06 05:29 PM

what's your boost curve per rpm like?

GoodfellaFD3S 03-25-06 06:22 PM

Damn, those are some pretty good #s, congrats :). I am hitting the dyno myself soon and hope to make it up towards that level!

cloead 03-25-06 07:48 PM

Thanks guys, hopefully I can either figure out this boost problem, or just upgrade to a different turbo sometime soon.

Here's the incar video.. more to come soon (uploading them now):

d1rx7 03-25-06 08:13 PM

thats good numbers, goodluck in getting 500hp

the_glass_man 03-25-06 10:16 PM

Awesome. How high are you injector duties at that boost level with you current setup? Also, who tuned it or did you tune it yourself?

1sicsol 03-25-06 10:26 PM

Is that a 63mm turbo? What's the a/r?

Narfle 03-25-06 11:57 PM

when does she get started? 3k-4k?

I could tell you if I would have remembered to bring my laptop so I could log some stuff hah. And rx7store tuned it, but I think I'm gonna give tuning a try myself, I really want to learn.

It's a 63mm turbo, but gotham racing wont tell me what the a/r is so I don't really know.

20psi by about 3800-4000rpms, not too bad.

and thanks to everyone else for the kind words :)

here's a vid of the run, outside of the car: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/C...F386AFD68E.htm

OBX3 03-27-06 02:48 AM

nice man..

Jason 03-27-06 02:05 PM

Good number. If boost is falling off up top then you are losing some HP. We figured you were closer to 480HP based off our Mustang dyno numbers, but that was holding 20 lbs.

Jason

1wide7 03-27-06 03:44 PM

pump gas or race?

cloead 03-27-06 08:25 PM

110 leaded

GoodfellaFD3S 05-23-06 08:55 AM

Any update? Did you get your problems sorted out?

Also, what is spool time like at 15ish psi? I remember helping to get the first kits together at the shop but unfortunately never got to drive a car with the GR63 installed.

I'm considering running this with the dual BB option, looking for 450 rwhp on pump gas/water inj and good responsive spool from 3500 and up.

really...that's some shit. When you go single, you are going to wish you did from day one, haha!

Yeah, that is what ccarlisi keeps telling me.

I dunno man, if I convert these BNRs to sequential, that is a powerband that is hard to beat......400-425 rwhp with full boost near 3k rpms?

dubulup 05-24-06 11:28 AM

yes, that would be sick...IMO, these cars need to be either BB single or seq.

I would get full boost (20psi) around 4500-5000rpms.. and then the motor let go at about 5000 miles. Go figure!

RX7JCHIII 06-28-06 11:51 AM

Grats on the numbers......I live a lil less than 3 hours from you and plan on taking my car to Jason for tuning. Might need to look you up.

Did you read his post right above yours where he says his motor blew at 5k miles?

Jason 06-30-06 09:22 AM

The reason his motor blew had nothing to do with tuning. There were some mechanical issues external to the motor that caused the problem.

Improved FD 06-30-06 10:24 AM

at 20+ psi, everything has to be RIGHT....in my opinion that type of boost will never be street reliable, day-in, day-out

15 psi is plenty

I wasn't posting to say 'don't go get tuned there' I was posting to say 'why are you congratulating him on the #s when he just popped his motor'

I'm curious, what mechanical issues happened? sucks that his motor failed :(

Jason 06-30-06 02:46 PM

The major problem was something bent the timing ring in half which took out the CAS and the wires that go to that. One of the strangest things I have ever seen.

Not on 93 octane, I agree. Even with my water/meth injection I don't run more than ~17 psi....still enough to smoke anything I've come upon in NJ so far :ylsuper:

Hah.. come to Ohio :)

And everyone.. I never ran 20psi on 93. 110 is where it's atttttt.

Improved FD 07-01-06 01:33 PM

I sense another LS1 conversion...it's an epidemic :)

RX7JCHIII 07-03-06 10:14 AM

didnt see the poped motor bit that sucks sorry bro
