do you have a pic of your engine bay. I'm about to get the greddy FMIC,but have a blitz intake. I'd like to see how you have your intake

mazdaspeed00 01-11-04 08:33 PM

any fuel upgrades? are you running a ported motor? are you controlling boost with just the pettit ECU?

oakridgerx7 01-11-04 08:33 PM

I can take a pic tomorrow, The intakes are really tight.

oakridgerx7 01-11-04 08:34 PM

supra fuel pump, boost control via needle valves. stock reman.

mazdaspeed00 01-11-04 08:36 PM

very nice. are you maxing out your stock injectors?

SNracing 01-11-04 08:39 PM

in your sig it says "best track time 8.19 @ 86mph".... what distance was that, im guessing 1/8 of a mile?

I feel pretty safe in saying that i am. Im gonna have to upgrade ECUs before I can upgrade injectors. I also have a water/alcohol injection kit to Install, which will help out a lot. I may also go with a adjustable FPR to help the injectors flow a little more fuel.

mazdaspeed00 01-11-04 08:41 PM

its 1/8 mile. no way u can run a 8.19 with a trap speed of 86mph :)

Yep, thats all we have around here. I feel pretty confident that I can get that down to the high 7s with a good set of drag radials.

Good stuff oakridgerx7! :bigthumb:

Would you post your dyno charts including the AFR portion?

thanks a bunch

Nice numbers at 12psi, especially for a non-ported motor. What were the conditions? (temps, correction factor, 18" wheels?, etc)

I know the temp was around 40F, Im not sure what the correction factor was.

Ive been trying to download the dyno chart, but the file is too big, I will have to try to get it hosted somewhere. I can e mail it to you though.

oakridgerx7 01-12-04 08:57 PM

dyno chart finally

oakridgerx7 01-12-04 09:06 PM

anyone know why my power drops so quickly after 7k?

BlackRX7Turbo 01-16-04 06:53 PM

actually...

If you drive funny car or top fuel, you could go 1/4 track and completely let off and finish out the track coasting and you might get 8.19 @ 86mph in the 1/4 mile... ;)

on the 14 and 16 psi runs, your in the blow the engine range for the A/F. I'd keep it at 12 for now.

Only one question guys, is this rear-wheel or flywheel HP?

TechDude 01-26-04 11:27 AM

nice numbers

Tim Benton 01-26-04 05:04 PM

rwhp on the dyno.

was the boost stable during the run? If it's dropping off, then the HP would too.

Tim

oakridgerx7 01-26-04 05:20 PM

boost was stable until redline, I guess the turbos just lost their efficiency

Tim Benton 01-26-04 08:09 PM

okay, looks like its the ecu mapping that is killing your top end. First, I'd add some fuel, if possible (S-AFC) from 5500 to 7000 RPMS. Then the drop off after that is due to the extremely rich mapping, 10.0 to 1 it looks like from 7K to redline. The engines greatest stress is leading up to peak torque. That looks like its 11.0 to 1 from the map, kinda small as far as telling from the scan. With my PFC, I was in the 10.3's heading up to redline. I took out as much as 8% fuel (from about 6K up) and the peak HP went from 339 to 363 and stayed under 11.5 up to redline, until I let off near redline. An ignition amp might help light the mixture as well since its so rich, it would lean it out a bit with it burning off more than stock.

Tim
