Check out my Dyno - Think there is a problem?
I do. Several of them to be exact. First the secondary turbo appears to be coming on way too late. Then the Air:Fuel ratio's look brutal. On the upper end they are so rich that the dyno couldn't read them correctly. I just bought the car but the mods it has (that I know of) are as follows:
Stock Twins in sequential mode Stock Intercooler Greddy or HKS downpipe. Apexi N1 exhaust Apexi dual intake Aluminum AST. I don't know what else has been done. I come the FC world so I don't know what the usual upgrade path is for an FD. I have a Power FC and a Greddy 3 row intercooler to install but thought I would wait until I figured out what I've got going on now before installing them. Any ideas? |
i had a similar problem with my car... when was the last time you changed the plugs and wires?

Another dyno I have seen also has the transition occuring at around 5,000 RPM.

how much boost? Also, how many miles on the car? perhaps your main cat is partially clogged.

Also the power really isn't dropping of at 6k. Due to your mods, you are seeing a boost spike at transition. I have the same mods as you do minus the cat-back. Depending on the weather, I will get a boost spike to 12psi at transition then things level out to stock levels. Get a boost gauge to not the boost levels and get a boost controller. You need to bring things back to stock levels to be safe. |

Max power looks low to me and power before transition looks terrible. I don't study dyno graphs of other motors everyday but there are certainly problems. I had the main cat clog once and the primary still felt fine, it was the secondary that was poor. That makes sense because there isn't as much exhaust gas volume at lower RPM.
My engine is completely stock other than downpipe and catback and it's much stronger than that. |
I don't know how much boost there is no boost gauge in the car. I just bought a DEFI gauge and hopefully can answer that question soon.
How can you tell if your cat is plugged? |
