So I finally went to the dyno last night to find out if all my hard work had payed off. I was planning on finding a Dynojet or Dynapack so I could get comparable numbers to the current record holder Goodfellafd3 with his 425rwhp run. Unfortunately, I could only find a Mustang dyno that was close by and had available dyno time. The owners of the dyno stated that their Mustang dyno was generally 11% from a Dynojet close by. With some of their customers testing back to back on both their Mustang dyno and the other Dynojet.

The car is running non-sequential BNR stage 3's with a peak boost of 20.5psi which drops off to 19psi toward redline. I'm also running wannaspeed's pre-turbo water/meth injection. The rest of my mods are in my signature. It really is incredible what these BNR's can do when you push them to their limit. I'm sure the pre-turbo water/meth injection helped out as well.

On the first run the car made 408rwhp but lost the ignition signal around 3,800 rpm. On the second run the car made 406rwhp. The dyno chart below is from that second run. With the 11% correction for Dynojet numbers this would be 452rwhp. I know this is a very unscientific way of claiming a HP record but I'm more then impressed with 408rwhp on a Mustang dyno and I'm sure the numbers would be vastly improved on a Dynojet. I'll try to find a available Dynojet to get the real numbers but in the mean time here is my dyno sheet and some video (sorry for the quality) from the dyno.

Great job, everything sounds right to me. I have a mustang dyno a available like 1 mile away but always drove far away for the dynojet numbers, never been on a mustang dyno. I had always figured you could get close to 450 with those bnrs. I'm guessing wcf is the weather correction factor. Why did you let off so early? Congrats

Thanks Tom, always nice to get a compliment from the other twin turbo record holder. Were you on a dynojet when you made the 411whp with the twins?

Yes, WCF is the weather correction factor. I let off when I felt the motor stop making power which was around 7K RPM on my tach. That and I was nervous after having a bad experience the last time I was on a dyno (blew front and rear apex seals while RX7store tuned the car).

Did you datalog and what were your afrs? That's a lot of torque and its nice and early. That's about the same power as my t04r at 21 psi, except now its a lot more with more boost Haha

I tuned the car to run really rich at around 10.5-10.7 to be safe. The only weak link on the car is the intercooler as these turbo's are theoretically only efficient to 18psi and start to make alot of heat at 20+psi. Towards the end of the second run my ait's were around 75C!!! I'm going to install a front mount and head back to the dyno to see how much more power I can make. But with winter approaching I'll probably wait till next year.

Good luck with that t04r, must be nice to run more then 20psi.

I also wanted to say, this was done with side feed injectors, stock rails, stock fuel pressure regulator, and I'm also running the fuel pulsation dampener.

The side feed 1600's were supposedly 1300's that I bought used off a forum member over a year ago. I had them flow tested by Witchhunter and surprise surprise they were actually flowing 1590cc's. I had RC test them just to make sure they'd be safe and they tested fine. I even had them cleaned again this year by witchhunter and this year they're flowing 1609cc's. I guess this is a problem with the old style 1300's.

I just wanted to mention this because I've seen forum members ask how much power the stock fuel pressure regulator is good for and to my knowledge this is the most power I've seen anyone make on it.

Ya mine was on a dynojet. If you rev it out on the street I wouldn't worry about it on the dyno with the same tune. You sacrifice significant power running rich, which you shouldn't need to do with water injection to keep your knock low, but I understand doing so if your air temps are getting that high which is way too high, you definitely need a better ic and probably should get a fpr, but I know you know all this. My air temps went up to 43 during my dyno pull with the stock twins, up about 21 degrees C. How much did your air temps go up? You will make a good bit more power with lower ait and 11.5 afr.

My thoughts exactly. I know I can lean it out to get more power but my AIT's are just too unstable. On the street my AIT's will go from 29-30 to 48-49 after running through a couple gears. On the dyno they went from 33-75 in one pull. Maybe if the dyno had a better fan it wouldn't have been so bad.

Ever since I installed the Aeromotive 340 pump my fuel pressure has been solid. Any other reason why I should consider upgrading?

With my single turbo the ait's surprisingly went up about the same amount on the dyno as they did with the stock twins, and there was a nice big fan for the single turbo dyno pull and a tiny fan for twin turbos dyno pull, so I don't think the fan made a difference. I just upgraded to a greddy 3 row fmic and temps are not rising quite as much and not as fast as far as I can tell on the street, but not dyno tested yet. I also just installed the aeromotive 340 pump, afrs are now richer above 21 psi at higher revs so while my supra pump was working good it just shows that this pump is pumping much better at high pressures, perhaps my fuel pressure was dropping off before, Idk, but this is also why I would suggest a upgraded fpr, maybe the stock regulator won't do as good at high pressures, just guessing. I have the aeromotive fpr and electronic fp gauge.

Good luck to you. To my knowledge the current record for sequential BNR's is 411rwhp on a dynojet.

One of the problems with these turbos is that you're limited to the size of the stock exhaust manifold and turbine housings. This has the effect of choking the engine at high rpm. This is why many people can't get more then 18.5psi out of these turbos near redline. Mine seem to have a mind of their own and will sometimes make 19 and sometimes make 18.5 near redline.

I hope having all those extra flapper doors doesn't hurt your flow too much.

Three pulls each about five minutes apart for cool down. Fuel pressure was rock solid the entire time. I've been running this pump for two months now and have had no problems.

Have other people had problems?

Kind of a hard question to answer because the system is mechanical and increases flow with boost pressure. I do know that the system will output 500cc's at 18psi and I run a ratio of 70/30 water/meth. so 350cc's water and 150cc's meth. Since I'm peaking at 20.5psi it's flowing more then that.

I see, that sounds good. I run a 315cc nozzle rated at 150 psi but I have a 200 psi pump, so close to 380 I guess, water only.

It feels great! 60-120mph goes by really quick and even at 120mph the power pushes you into the seat.

I was going to go single turbo, but for around $2,000 it's very hard to build a setup that can make good power and still have a progressive powerband. I got the non-sequential BNR's for $1,700 during the group buy and they are perfect! The power comes on gradually so I can get on it in third gear without breaking the tires loose. Even in second the tires will squeal but not violently break loose. Another thing that's nice is that I can still use boost driving around town to accelerate quickly but not go balls out. It doesn't come on like a on/off switch like many turbo Mazda's I've ridden in.

Basically, it's great to drive around town and when you want to have fun it will deliver plenty of power.

I'll get on a dynojet when I can. There's a dynojet close by where I just got the car dynoed and I would have went there if it weren't booked up for the next couple weeks. The owners of Big 3 where I got the car dynoed said that customers consistently get 11% more out of their cars on this Dynojet. I guess they go to him for dyno tuning and the Dynojet for their numbers.

CONGRATS!!!! What are the specs on the engine?

I had made 421 at ~17 psi, so 450 at 19-20 psi is certainly believable. I believe someone else had 423 or something similar so I didn't hold the 'official' record, I just whored my car out all over the net :lol:

The main thing that held me back from running more boost was the limits of the supra tt fuel pump, and also more fuel injector.... I had 850/1300s.

Let us know what kind of trap speeds you're running if you ever get to the drag strip :icon_tup:

P.S. Glad to see the IRP GB had a hand in this accomplishment :)

Man your car sounds like it's alot of fun. Do you plan on getting any track time or just have fun on the streets?

I was in the same boat w/ wanting to go single. I just couldnt justify the cost of going single at the time...then I saw that GB on the BNR's and found my answer to my build. :nod: My goal is that 400hp mark w/ seq BNR's. With the #'s you have put up non-seq and Tom94rx7 w/ the stock turbo's non-seq makes me feel like it is very do-able.

Hey Ball joint nice numbers, btw can u tell what are ur injector duty cycle percentage? And if u rewire ur fuel pump? Also your motor race ported? Can you elaborate is it (small, large or very large etc). I was goona sell my non seq BNR stage 3 but after seeing ur power I am changing my mind.

The aeromotive 340 fuel pump actually comes with instructions for the fuel pump rewire with a relay to get alternator voltage to your fuel pump for max flow, and strongly recommends it.

Ok cool, btw if anyone looking for this pump I actually found this Company Himni Racing selling it for $149 the cheapest I have seen.
