Another track visit and almost 10's

Went to Etown last night......and got booted once more!
All runs on ET streets, 17.5psi(dropping) and pump gas.

1st run:
60'= 1.594
1/8= 7.178 @ 97.31mph
1/4= 11.261 @ 119.71 mph
**once I hit 4th car fell on his face....too much fuel.

2nd run: (official says, 11.999 or faster and you're going home !!!)......I said , OK.
60'= 1.609
1/8= 7.186 @ 97.92 mph
1/4= 12.04 @ 75.77 mph >>>>> BRAKING LIKE HELL !!!

3rd run:
60'= 1.560
1/8= 7.055 @ 98.22mph <<< 10 sec run for sure !!!
1/4= 11.101 @ 120.64 mph
** again 4th felt like an overdrive.....logs showed A/Fs in the mid 10's.....or twins are finally dying !!!
:(

Gonna lean it a bit and head to Atco next week for 10's.

Tried NGK BR9EIX Iridium plugs w/ .020" gap on 1st run and motor simply did not feel smooth.....
Replaced with 9EQs and it was much smoother...

t-von 11-01-03 04:39 PM

Lean it out some and you'll be there no problem.:D I know your are using et streets, but how are you getting such a low 60' time without breaking the diff? The dif is stock right?

1badd7 11-01-03 04:44 PM

how much RWHP are you at?

vosko 11-01-03 04:53 PM

so close! come to island tomorrow

rxrotary2_7 11-01-03 04:55 PM

nice! :)

odditysmurf 11-01-03 04:55 PM

Nice run times. i really wish i could get to a track right now.

Boostn7 11-01-03 05:06 PM

Running 300M chromoly axles and TurboII diff in the FD casing w/ stock gearing...

RWH ??? Well....when engine was stock it did 402 rwh uncorrected....somewhere in the 390s SAE.

Based on my 125 mph traps on Nittos I'm saying low 420's rwh.......

I did hit the dyno 2 weeks ago with some mixed results:

All #'s are SAE
@ 13psi = 357.5 rwh
@ 15psi = 364.9 rwh - 291.3 rwt
@16-16.5psi =374.8 rwh - 319.4 rwt
@ ~16.5psi= 379.1 rwh - 323.4 rwt

At higher boost (18-19psi) I made about the same peak hp( low 380's).....and torque jumped as high as 345 rwt !!!
>>>the reason: no matter how high I went in boost it always dropped to 16-16.5psi by 7krpm....I did find a very small leak but not sure if it caused that much of a drop. On the road I see a 1-1.5 drop @18psi but not over 2psi.

Another reason: I made 25 pulls in one hour !!!!!!!!!!!
1st run = 1:57:52
25th run= 2:59:50
Did get my money's worth alright........NUTS !!!:p:

pomanferrari 11-01-03 05:29 PM

what kind of fuel computer are you running?

T88NosRx7 11-01-03 05:34 PM

wow, nice runs

Boostn7 11-01-03 05:39 PM

PowerFC with Datalogit and FJO wideband

GsrSol 11-01-03 07:37 PM

Nice runs, again!

Those are exceptionally good numbers if you're tuning it yourself. Especially since you are supposedly running the twins out of their efficiency range.

I have the PFC and Datalogit but no wideband yet. Any tips?

*UPDATE*

Went to Etown raceway for Street Wars#4 and flier mentioned DOT radials so I slapped on the Nittos drags......everyone there was on ET streets !!!! almost felt like going home to get the ET streets......oh well.

All 3 runs on Nittos drag radials...

1st run:
60'ft= 1.759
1/8 ET= 7.435
1/8 mph=96.55
1/4 ET= 11.496
1/4 mph= 123.33

2ndrun:
60'ft= 1.758
1/8 ET= 7.354
1/8 mph= 99.38
1/4 ET= 11.368
1/4 mph= 125.02

3rd run:
60'ft= 1.606 <<<< YES !!! on Nittos...still can't believe it.
1/8 ET= 7.638
1/8 mph= 87.51 <<< Completely missed 3rd gear:mad:
1/4 ET= 11.953
1/4 mph= 117.17

That last run would have been very nice if I had not missed 3rd......at the 330'ft I was 0.167 faster then previous. Did a "Pro-stock" burnout in 2nd gear.
:D

911GT2 11-02-03 11:09 PM

Shit thats fast! Especially on the stock twins. Wow. How long will they last running at that high boost? Nice runs, awesome 60' times.

RX-8 11-02-03 11:43 PM

What is your launch technique? Those are great 60 times.

Boostn7 11-03-03 10:44 PM

Believe it or not they seem to last alot longer then many would assume....
in the last year I replaced the front one and just recently the rear one started smoking which was also replaced with used ones.

RX8:
On Et streets...air pressure @ 14psi and launch @ 6.5-7krpm
On Nittos drags....air pressure 16-18psi and launch @ ~4krpm.....sometimes 4.5krpm.
Rear Tokicos on hard(#4) and fronts on #1(soft).

t-von 11-04-03 01:08 AM

Rx8, remember he has the turbo II rear end. Its alot stronger and allows him to launch at higher rpm's.

Where can i found ET streets tires for stock rims ?

PolishDude 11-04-03 09:57 AM

If I have a single turbo with ~380rwhp and I launch hard at 4500 am I going to break something?

I have nitto 555s on the street and I guess that's what I'd go to the track with.

Boostn7 11-04-03 07:11 PM

>>Bla Bla Bla... Runs some 10's <<

HAHAHA.....Trust me, I'm trying !!!

Thanks Tim, for the vids.

Guys, on the Mazda section you will also find "Pepe Loco" new Mazda MX6 with 20B.....check it out.
He's still dialing the chassis/clutch...Looking good so far.

Boosted! 11-05-03 02:44 PM

402 rwhp on the stock twins? very impressive

colin 11-23-03 03:47 PM

What size of ET Streets and Nitto's are you running on your stock rims ?
Is it possible to run with 15" DRAG SLICKS on an FD ?

Boostn7 11-23-03 06:53 PM

Nittos= 245-50-16

Et streets= 26x10.5-16
