395rwhp & 314 ft/lbs - SEQUENTIAL

Yup that's right. Was having some issues with her holding boost to redline. When running non sequential about a month prior we made 405/323:egrin:
Going back in a few weeks with new injectors/coils and looking to break 400 sequential. I see no problem doing it if we can keep the boost up there. Details 13B-RE - I rebuilt and ported it - mild streetport, EP2 Pineapple exhaust port. STOCK STOCK BONE STOCK REW sequentials - no porting save the WG, no polishing, no tricks, just ceramic coated Marren 750/1000 injectors (getting replaced with ID725/ID2000 tomorrow actually) Denso Stupra pump, getting replaced with Bosch 044 D580 LS1 coils, getting replaced tomorrow as well with some Bosch coils MoTeC M820 ECU, AIM dash. Dyno'ed and tuned @ KDR Performance. https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1269787504 |
Damn...nice.. wonder how much it would have done on stock ports
|
Very nice numbers. I doubt there will be any problem squeezing a few extra out of it to hit 400.

Looks like it starts around 3k rpm.. would be nice to see how it is 2-4k rpm. Congrats regardless. You using stock solenoids? How much boost? Full exhaust? Why did you switch out for sequentials? I'm thinking of converting my car back to sequential just to get better torque below 4k. |

Lesson learned - ALWAYS crack open used blocks, even if they have previously been rebuilt.

Rob Bailey Solenoids aiming for 1B but it tapers off to 11-12 near redline. Need to play with the WG duty in the Normal Position Table some more before I let it go closed loop. 3" DP, Magnalflow 3" in, 2.5" out to two 2.5"in/out cans. Originally started the tuning process with non-sequential. Just easier/safer to do everying one step at a time. Start at WG and work up, she made 313~ 8ish lbs'. Dialed that in, upped the boost incrementally till we did 405 @14ish lb's then went back and dialed in the sequentials. All told it was 5 days and 101 runs. I love the sequential. Especially with the MoTeC software I can leave it non below say 40% TP to cruise around and get decent gas mileage. Hit the go pedal past 40% and it's instant boost. Love it. I should also mention that this is in my FC. I have wilder plans for my FD when I start working on her in about 3 weeks |
nice!

I don't doubt this is a fast and powerful car, but the dyno used the "STD" correction factor. That always reads highest. Watch me create some horsepower on my dyno sheet real quick:
https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1269874282 uncorrected was 384.35 https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1269874282 "SAE" correction was 386.18 https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1269874282 "STD" correction was 394.94 |
I believe the std was 1 (uncorrected) but there was alot of smoothing (level5) involved.
When I'm back in a few weeks I'll make sure of it. |
"CF: STD" is the correction factor. That can have a significant effect on the power number it spits out. It would say "CF: UNCORRECTED" if it were in fact not a corrected number. The smoothing has a lesser effect on peak power numbers, usually 1 or 2 hp on most engines.

Congrats. Nice numbers and nice work on the build.

384 394 405 whatever.... Its still a shit ton of power for stock twins.
Major congrats! I have not paid a ton of attention to power numbers from the twins over the years but when my friend "HDP" made 390 on 99 specs on stock motor-mani-etc.. Just fuel upgrades. I was very impressed! Up to that point 350ish was the most I had come across. He actually had no duct for the IC so I bet he could even pick up a few more ponies. But this was on q16 gas. |
Very nice numbers! Maybe you can comment how you like the new injectors once they're installed. I considered picking them up myself. That's a very impressive setup you've got there.
Edit: I looked at your Motec thread.... VERY impressive setup. It's nice to see a well put together car:score: |
Very nice! Very impressive for stock unmolested twins.
Do you know your IATs? Just curious with that power on stock twins. |

Very nice! What is the limit on the stock twins?
|
^ this thread is almost 3 years old and the Op( original poster) has been banned.
Those numbers are inflated, most likly flywheel. No fucking way its making 400 REAR wheel hp at 14psi with side ports. The limit on twins is low 400's but the turbos will not last long at that power level. |
was this on pump or race fuel?
|
damn he got banned I wanted to know if he was still runnign hte same stock twins
|
I ran mine at 1 bar, the secondary blew up after less than 5000 km.:goodrebuild:
