Wow....Hawk HP Plus Pads
Installed them for a track day and they are like an on off switch. With the stock pads it is hard to get the anti lock to come on but with the HP Plus pads it is hard not to use ABS. Does anyone know of a pad with a little less friction?

Just educate your foot. When I switched I was the same at first. They actually modulate very well, it just takes less pedal pressure to do it.

I LOVE my Hawk HP+ pads. I have an FC though with no antilock, so its important that I have a pad that CAN lock my wheels, and that modulate very well.
|
So they are a good choice for replacement pads?
|
For autocross that is, not street...

They are wonderful for autox AND on the street. Only problem for us daily drivers is they dust badly. I live with it because I like them so much.

I have been using the HP+ on my MX6 for 3 years, no problems other then dust and squeeking. Even in the winter they have plenty of bite on the first stop. I've had them on my FD for 2 years, other then the first track day (a little fade on the first heat cycle) they have been fine.

Yeah, Hawk HP+ pads are the best I have ever used for street and auto-x. Besides the dusting, and the squeeking, they are GREAT. They bit hard at ALL times. I've had mine for almost a year, and I've used them REALLY hard, several auto-x's lots of backroad driving, etc...They have over half-life still left on them.

Well the problem is that I am learning how to heal toe and it is going to take time to teach my foot. If I was just breaking normally these pads would be just grabby, but heal toe breaking is different. I am way too ham footed now for this pad. When I blip the gas I push some on the break and it grabs. A pad that has less friction would be good for me right now.

Just disconnect your ABS. You don't need them anyways.
