Would 17x9 +23mm fit FD?

Only have 1 pair. Have to purchase another pair brand new.
If 17x9 +23 fits, what is the recommended size for the other pair?
I wish to use same size tires all round so i can rotate.. something like 255/40/17.

thanks expertsssss

No.

not even the rear??

see my post in your other thread....

will probably fit the rear with 255s .... but you'll have to run smaller rubber on the front ..

Yes it fits in the front with a 235 and fender roll. easy.

hey plaguepunx,

i only have 1 pair of ce28n 17x9 +23mm. its good to hear i can fit 255/40 at the rear (or with 235/40 at the front).

i still need to purchase the other pair. what do you recommend for the wheel width/offset and tires size?

It seems like i have no chance fitting 17x9 +23mm with 255 at the front..

thanks

NONONO i get sick of that constantly in here

but yeah, no, never with a 255. unless you get some wide fenders.

225/235 yes. roll fenders just to be safe. use those sweet ass wheels!

Hi 7syawedis,

Thanks for reply.

I only have 1 pair of ce28n in 17x9 +23 - since you say it will fit fine with 235.

What is the width n offset of the OTHER PAIR you would recommend me to get?

Looks like i can't use 255.. geez.. i am really confused now. My other thread said no problem even with +17 or +25mm :(

Thanks.

Eric

i personally wouldnt do a 235. i have 215 federals (which is closer to a 225 in most other brands) on a 17x9+17.
i just wouldnt even try OVER a 235.
for the rears if you want something wider go higher with the offset like a 17x9+35 you could do your 255s just fine. probably could go lower but thats just being safe. roll all 4 just to make it easier.

but in my opinion i would do something like a 17x10 in the higher 20 offset range with the 255 so it matches the look of the front better. just a tighter fit. but unorthodox wheel fitment isnt the best idea if you need to ask either. i dont like people going by what i say

efun007 09-06-07 08:53 PM

ok.. i take ur advice as

17x9 +23mm with 225 or 235 at the front
17x9 +35mm with 255 at the rear

for 17x9 the next offset below +35 is +23.

hey don't ppl use lower offset to run wider tires at the rear? how come i am having higher offset for wider tires?

7syawedis 09-06-07 09:29 PM

theres a ton of room in the rear to go in. lower offsets and wider wheels are going to stick out more, which is bad for some people i guess.

my advice is based on actual experience. the rear isnt as an eggresive fit so i worry it wont match the front which bothers me. that size is just a gaurentee fit really :icon16:
you probably can go a bit lower in back. but if a 23 is the next down the 255 might not work as well in the rear either. check out the offsets available in a 17x9.5 or 10. both of which you can still use a 255, and will look a lot better.

7syawedis 09-06-07 09:33 PM

then again is that one guy with the 17x10+25 x4 fn's running a 255 back there?

if so using that as a refrence be the judge of it yourself because the fit of a 17x9+23 wont be too far off. better yet you need to just put some tires on your 2 and test fit them and test it all out yourself.

efun007 09-06-07 11:38 PM

17x9.5 comes in 15,22,28,35,40 and 47.
17x10 only comes in 15 and 45..

17x9.5 +22 probably best match the look of 17x9 +23? rear shd hav a lower offset i guess.

so i can try 235/40/17 front and maybe with 255/40/17 rear now?

CarzArKoo1 09-21-07 03:03 PM

I guess the best bet is ask more question around or I suggest running the small offset in the front and bigger for the rear. The way you want is like a stagger look and it will look nice on FD for sure. Well with 17x9 I suggesst get 225 front and 17x9 with higher offset get for the rear with wider tires. like 265 or soemthing like that, main concern is u dont' want to rub your fender. :) good luck
